Sending out recruiters to recruit soldiers and adjusting taxes better
I'm not a fan of castles and don't usually accept more than one while with a faction, because it's easy to lose money with them if you have a good garrison, or once you have too many fiefs and tax inneficiency kicks in. When running my own kingdom, I give them all away to lords, so long as I have a town.
on OSX here so maybe Linux or Wiin users can chime in for platform specifics - check the Steam workshop for Diplomacy it will tell you how to install and where to get the mod files as they aren't on Steam.
For OSX you need to do the install manually
- navigate to the Modules folder (*instructions below )
- duplicate the Native folder - call it what you want though Diplomacy might be good.
- click on the diplomacy.exe file you downloaded (you may have to install this[the-unarchiver.en.softonic.com] to deal with the archive format ) then grab enerything from the folder it expands and drop it into the copy of Native you just made
Don't forget to select "Diplomacy" in the launcher options
To get your saved games to show up, manually copy your native saved games into the mod folder, on OSX they're here:
/Users/<YOUR_USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/MBWarband/Savegames
if you've just installed M&B you'll only see a folder called "Native", if you haven't run a Diplomacy game do so (don't forget to save) to get the mod to make its save folder (or you can do it yourself though the naming is important) then copy in the save files you want to use or if you've no idea what "sg13.sav" is, copy them all and delete as necessary through the ingame menus
*finding M&B in steam:
- go to your steam library window
- right click on the M&B app name in the list which opens a menu, look for "properties", click that
- look for the tab that says "files" then look for "browse local files" which will open a finder window to the folder containing Warband
BS. Castles yield gold.
also, how much RTR shoudl you have when starting your faction? I only read "enough" all the time. Is there a related numerical value?
