Every faction has a speciality and excellent melee infantry is what the Nords get. The Sarranids have no specialization, just well rounded units.
See Huscarls are really the best infantry, BUT they have short range weapons which means sometimes they get beaten by troops with longer weapons - also how many did you have?
Youre all probably right. With the longer weapons that deal blunt demage my huscalrs were outranged.
Vaegir guards are excellent infantry. Great offense, weak defense.
excellent army needed more tho
Some of the Sarranid castles have really viscious bottlenecks. There is one where five Vaegir guards once held against ninety Khergits, holding them and cutting them down while Deshavi and my character were shooting in their backs.
In at least two castles, the top of the ladder really favors long weapons. And when the weapons are blunt, armor helps a lot less.
Since forever. At the beginning of every game, all weapon proficiencies get a small bonus. I think it is less than 20 in Native, but it still makes a bit of a difference.
