What is the point of “train peasants” quest?
To watch your player character get repeatedly knocked put by 3 superspeed peasants who can block instantly?

To waste your time and resources? What saidst made this? And it seems the higher your training skill the more peasants attack you.

Yea I am a sword bearer who can take on half Calradia single-handedly. Let’s give you this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stick to train. What fun.

Look, I play on the hardest settings except for using auto direction blocking.
And I can beat them fine, even though I suck in melee.

The problem you might have is because you never bothered to put any skill in pole arms, thus making you swing slower and softer than the peasants.

I would not say "superspeed", but I do agree that the fights can be unfair at times. If you're fighting 3 opponents with polearms, one careless, mistimed swing will get you stunlocked to defeat. Furthermore, AI strikes/attacks can penetrate their ally when their ally is struck by you. This makes it so that even if you get a narrow alley and get them to "line up" and fight you, the moment you land a hit on the first opponent, the one behind him will swing their stick which will pass through the first opponent and hit you.
In mods like Pendor, I have had 5 peasants spawn at a time. Very rare case.

5?! Oof!
I can barely handle 3, with luck.

Any quest up friendly and you can get better army from villages, no need to be fun. If I have some problem, I look for stone floor or, at least, leveled grass: terrain change your speed and it can do retreat imposible. (In example: threaten and retreat/atack, the trick is to get them to block where you are not going to attack)
400 hours + in this, polearms at 120 (decent), using terrain (making them attack uphill). Athletics at 2. Ironflesh at 2. Powerstrike 4 str 12. Mouse guided attacks and blocks.

Still they seem to hit nore than me and block by flukes. Playing hardest in everything and fastest enemy combat.

I can get 3 of them maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 times. But that’s it.

Had a test in arena in Narra: I can take out 8-10 guys by myself with the pole, even if it’s three simultaneously. Veteran and Regular fighters, but the peasants of doom are something.

you get honour if you refuse the reward from them at the end if i remember correctly (i may be mixing this up with another event. if so you only gain relation with the village if you refuse the reward)

The peasants really aren't any better than the arena fighters. I dunno, maybe practice more in the arena? With at least 100 in polearms i've never had a problem with villagers.
In over 30 years of hardcore FPS gaming and MP dominating I have NEVER seen such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

They block and hit at the speed of light, meanwhile your character takes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ages to swing. They block even before they put the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ block up and attack before you can do anything.

The only thing you can do is swing wildly and hope you don’t get hit. No strategy, just pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck.

Ah yes, I, as a leader of great company that toppled lords and captured castles, have the time to stop and waste a week with me and my hundreds of professional soldiers to poke a stick at three village idiots.

The whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ village mechanic is screwed anyway. If you defend one against a pillaging lord and declare an attack on him, you LOSE honour, instead of gaining it.

Any skill in base game need to be 4 to get some advantage. Athletics at 2 is the problem (also ironflesh), I think, I ever try to get athletis 4 at least, Then only a few units overspeed you (as veterans or lords).

skill issue

Best village quest in my opinion. Rather do this than roam around getting cow/wheat. I love getting 4-5 peasants per round because that just makes the training faster, even sometimes just enough to proceed to the bandit after one set.

I tend to do this quest a lot early game, when my character has the time for it (no land to defend, etc). I do these quests at strategically located villages, especially if I've already cleared bandits out.

I typically start my game by running around the arena for a few levels, so by the time I get the quest, I have reasonable pole-arm skill and 2-3 athletics. A feast in Praven will crank up your Pole-arm, which can help. Still when 3 or 4 spawn, you need to move the whole time so that they don't gang up on you. I still lose frequently when 4 spawn, but you do another round of training, and hope the RNG gives you fewer.

This also assumes you have enough troops to kill the bandits at the end of the quest.

I wonder why every other game I am good at, but this thing I am not.

Yes, definitely a “skill issue”. Or maybe the game design is asinine.
