Please stop the feast and go home!
Once you throw a feast as the ruler of your own fiefdom, how do you stop it and get everyone to leave? I started the feast in cooperation with my wife and she said I could stop it whenever I wanted to but how do I do that? Also, where does the food and drink for the feast come from as I assumed it came from my household inventory, but I keep checking the inventory and nothing seems to be consumed dispite the feast having been ongoing for nearly a month!

Years ago, when I played Native, there was a bug that made it impossible to end a feast through dialogue. You had to start a campaign and end it immediately to do so. I am not sure whether it was ever fixed, because I usually end feasts by starting a campaign anyway.

The food and drinks do come from the inventory, but you only lose one portion of food per guest per day. If you have 20 different foods, as one often does in mods, and about a dozen guests, you can still have all stacks remain in the inventory, even if the feast goes on for weeks.

It's a bug.
You got to be the marshall to start a campaign.
If not, try withdraw all the food in (your wife's) house inventory.

For me, appointing a new marshal usually did the trick.

Basically, yes.

It is fixed in most mods, but even in Native, it does not matter all that much, because the proper way to end a feast is with a campaign. So no one raises much of a stick about the bug.

Good players need a reason to throw a feast. There is very little reason to do so unless you are the king. You are already married, you have no daughter that you want married, you have better ways to raise relation with other lords, you have more time efficient ways of raising your renown... so why would you be throwing a feast unless you want all your lords in one place?

And you have a limited set of reasons to want your lords in one place, such as consulting them about fief assignment, or giving them troops. And once you are done, it's time for a campaign.

I believe the food and drinks get removed from you larder once the feast is over. And I don't know of any way to end a feast other than starting a new campaign. But then agin, I always appoint myself marshall as king since a bad marshall is usually the cause of a war going wrong. Or he gets you in too many wars at the same time.

Thank you for all the advice people, but the problem sort of solved itself since a neighboring kingdom declared war on me so I had to start a campaign against them thus shutting down the feast. I did kind of enjoy the continous string of tournaments in the home city though while the feast was in effect for so long and made a pretty good chunk of money for that! :steamhappy:

Your kingdom is temporary, BUT FEASTS ARE ETERNAL.

You're a bad Lord who only think about yourself rather than your King. I will send an anonymous letter to your King and report it. :steammocking:
(decrease your relationship with your King then recruit you to my faction):steammocking:

If you're not the King nor marshall,
"we will stay forever this way, and my heart will go on and on !!!"
The King and those Lords may not leave even we're at war !!!:br_cry:

+1
Yes, to prepare a feast is quite troublesome and NOT all the Lords will attend it.
If we're the King we can raise relationship with our lords by giving them fief.
If we're marshall we can start a campaign and gain relationship with Lords after capturing a town/castle from talking with them.
We can spend the time from preparing a feast in somewhere else.

I have no king, I am my own faction. I did the feast because I had never done one, so I was curious to see what that was all about. Gives the wife something to do besides sitting around with all the other wives doing embroidery! :steamhappy:
