The food and drinks do come from the inventory, but you only lose one portion of food per guest per day. If you have 20 different foods, as one often does in mods, and about a dozen guests, you can still have all stacks remain in the inventory, even if the feast goes on for weeks.
You got to be the marshall to start a campaign.
If not, try withdraw all the food in (your wife's) house inventory.
Let me get this straight..
It's a bug..
the game was released on 31 Mar, 2010
over the course of 8 years, DLC's were released, Mods were made.. and this never got fixed??
interesting....
It is fixed in most mods, but even in Native, it does not matter all that much, because the proper way to end a feast is with a campaign. So no one raises much of a stick about the bug.
Good players need a reason to throw a feast. There is very little reason to do so unless you are the king. You are already married, you have no daughter that you want married, you have better ways to raise relation with other lords, you have more time efficient ways of raising your renown... so why would you be throwing a feast unless you want all your lords in one place?
And you have a limited set of reasons to want your lords in one place, such as consulting them about fief assignment, or giving them troops. And once you are done, it's time for a campaign.
lol
(decrease your relationship with your King then recruit you to my faction)
"we will stay forever this way, and my heart will go on and on !!!"
The King and those Lords may not leave even we're at war !!!
Yes, to prepare a feast is quite troublesome and NOT all the Lords will attend it.
If we're the King we can raise relationship with our lords by giving them fief.
If we're marshall we can start a campaign and gain relationship with Lords after capturing a town/castle from talking with them.
We can spend the time from preparing a feast in somewhere else.
