Oh and what do you mean pretender? Isolla is the daughter of the previous KING! Harlaus is the opportunist pretender! the damn butterlord even boast about how he snatch Isolla birthright from her! Isolla is the rightful queen of swadia! not the butterlord whos strategy is to have a feast in Dhirim!
When the rebellion starts, try to capture the king and lock him up in there. I heard his vassals will start defecting more frequently.
Don't give any fiefs to your pretender. They will award it to themselves once they become king. Better to give to your new lords.
Harlus is a butterlord who have done nothing for us but to make US fight HIS wars for him while he sits in Praven having feasts! We are getting slaughtered and everytime we gain ground he takes it all for himself to cultivate more butter production!
-have a good medic in your party
-get a lot of money, I would say atleast 100.000.
-get good relation with villages from other kingdoms (Swadian soldiers will get a big moral malus if you fight Swadian)
-have a plan what soldiers you want to use, for example: Rhodoks for sieges and Khergit for battles
-be ready for a lot of sieges, you will not win if you keep beating the lords only in normal battles
-good relation with swadian lords, so they will join your rebellion, the persuation skill might be handy too
-try to attack the castles with siege towers at last
From my experience as a Sarranid Rebel, your troops while you are a rebel do not receive a morale decrease from fighting similar troops. My Mamelukes were regarded as a different faction from Sarranid. So when I fight other Mamelukes with my Mamelukes I get no morale decrease.
But I was using Floris mod.
From what I know, troops that have a particular nationality (say, Nord Huscarls) passively drain your army morale if you/your faction is at war with their faction (in this case it's obviously the Nords). Not sure if actively fighting against parties from that nationality changes this value in some direction, although I don't think so. So by what I vaguely seem to remember, your army can be on the other end of the map, never even seeing that Nords are under attack by your faction, and your army will start feeling bad.
This is what makes faction-neutral units like mercs or farmer soldiers special; they will never have any kind of morale penalty for being at war with their country, because they don't feel aligned with one.
Mhh, I don't know how could you personally are skill-wise, but 100 days seems a bit early for me.
You see, putting a new monarch on the throne in Mount and Blade is one of the hardest things you can ever really do, and I would think it's right up there with (or even harder than) having a successful kingdom, since you generally start off from scratch and can't even take any fiefs as preparation into the war. Now because of this, it's important to be prepared for it really well, which, at first, translates into having a crapload of money for your war effort. For me personally, 100 days wouldn't be nearly enough time to amass a fair bit of money, as well as make some other preparations (eg. finding the companions I need, purchasing good gear...).
Secondly, how many knights do you have exactly? Because, even though Swadian Knights are probably some of the best units there are for field combat, it'll still be good to have a large number of them.
As for the exact start of your campaign, here's something I wrote in another thread:
"Generally when I'm playing native/something based on native, I tend to spend up to a year crushing sea raiders near Wercheg to pave the way for future battles against real opponents, namely by fishing for companions, selling gear to make money, and making some levels. Then I use that money as it comes in to buy Dyeworks in pretty much all major cities for the sum of $10,000 each (for almost all towns, this is the most cost-effective thing to do in the long run). Considering there are around 21 cities in native, buying Dyeworks for all of them translates into a) a lot of bandit hunting, and b) a lot of waiting for enterprises to pay off, so I recommend a mix of both.
Then, when I have an economic base in pretty much all the towns, money starts fludding in quite nicely, so that's when you really start outfitting yourself & your companions with some good gear and hire some elite soldiers at the same time. This usually takes ~1 year for me."
Just get some Rhodok troops and support Arwa the pearled One's claim. Be sure to give yourself all the cities too. Unless you're comfortable doing it solo you should probably take some extra time before you pledge to just making the sarrinid lords like you.
Harlaus stole the thrown from Lady Isolla to begin with.
He's nothing but a butter loving, feast holding thief.
