unbalanced weapon
Why do some weapons I find in game have "unbalanced" underneath them? Is it a vanilla thing or a mod? I'm playing with diplomacy - also, what does it mean?

Yes it is vanilla.

As I understand it. Unbalanced is a trait usually assigned to heavy or bulky weapons, like mauls or 2 handed hammers.

What it means is that it is harder to go from attacking to defending. So when you swing with most weapons you can cancel a swing into a block at any moment, not with an unbalance weapon. You HAVE to let the swing finish before you can block again.

Also, they cannot get the 'balanced' modifier. Nor 'tempered', nor 'masterwork', for that matter.

Yes, both of those two consequences of being 'unbalanced' are drawbacks. But you must understand that 'unblanced' is usually something that is attached to weapons who have other, very powerful abilities, like crushing through blocks, breaking shields, etc.

Yeah crush through block on a (B)lunt damage weapon(chance to knockdown and powerful armor penetration) is an absolute horror show.

Hell a warmaul on top of the ladder in a siege is a classic form cheesy defense in warband.
