Will use it in my next playthrough.
Additionally I would not recommend to play the expanded version unless you have a high end pc. The maps are overloaded with all kinds of objects which considerably hurt performance. The troop model does not make any sense, too. What's the point of having 7 tier units if you can't never get to upgrade to them. In my last game I had 7 points in training, and after 200 turns I haven't been able to upgrade a single unit to that tier.
However the tier 7 units, are REALLY strong.
You can easily see how with each level your units can easily take on more and more enemies.
The diplomacy issue seems to be fixed in "Floris Evolved" and in the "Cadmus Floris Expansion (One of the Floris devs has updated Floris back in 2018)"
As I only see people declaring war then they have enough troops to gain new land / want to take something back.
The only way I found out to get some of them is by defeating a bandit party which holds them as prisoner.
just to be clear, I don't mind the mod having elite units which are very rare and vary hard to get, it's fine, it adds some special flavor, in fact I do like the great variety in the units roster.
My point is that the game is not made for them, because as OP those elite units may be they do die, and they die rather quickly in battles as any other unit, armor being essentially useless in this game they just take a few hits before they go. In POP for example you have a lot of such super units, beside Noldors, you have hero adventures with 500 in each weapon proficiency, but despite their super stats and their super equipment, they do die. The main difference to Floris with its tier 7 units is that you can actually get them, they are expensive, but you can upgrade them rather quickly from adventures. Except from NPCs, Warband is not meant to have durable units, all of them, basic or elite are expendable. In Floris when I happened to get one of those units I was almost afraid to put it on the front line because I knew I'd probably lose it again very soon, and get another one would be very very hard and require a lot of time.
