Throwing weapon "balanced" modifier speed bonus
So just recently started using Throwing Daggers in Native. I came across some Balanced Throwing Daggers as opposed to the Large Bag of Throwing Daggers i'm currently using. My question is: does the speed modifier on balanced throwing daggers mean faster projectiles or faster throwing speed?

Whether it is worth it depends on how you use them. If they're a backup weapon, to be used occasionally, yes. If they're your primary way of doing damage, and most of your damage is coming from Power Throw and weapon proficiency, then you will get more from the extra projectiles.

Speaking for myself, I always end up with large stacks for ranged weapons, and balanced weapons for my melee weapons. But then, most of my characters use their ranged weapon as primary, and their sword is a sidearm - as swords, with a few exceptions, were through history.

The main reason i'm using throwing daggers is indeed as a backup weapon. I found myself taking too much damage from ranged light cavalry units (my slow-ass warhorse can't keep up to those damn Khergits, so i can't kill them in time with melee) so i figured maybe spending those excess weapon proficiency points on throwing weapons would be beneficial. True, it's not too practical due to being so situational but i enjoy experimenting with my characters - and tbh it's just really fun.
Next time i see Balanced Throwing Daggers i'll be sure to get them.

Sink one point into power throw. It will give you access to considerably better thrown weapons. You'll also find it pays off at tournaments. Plus it comes in handy so many times when you're storming walls and out of ammo to be able to grab javelins off of the ground and throw them back.

Already put a few points into power throw. However, i don't think the other throwing weapons (except throwing knives/daggers and maybe darts) have enough shots to be practical in a battle. I tend to miss half the time being on horseback and all, and so those extra shots allow me to ensure i'm at least somewhat effective with throwing weapons. Great idea about throwing back javelins and such during sieges though, will keep that one in mind.

My problem with the daggers (unless your in a mod that has some really good ones like PoP has the assassin's knives) is that they barely do any damage. Also the end over end throwns (daggers, axes) seem harder to aim. The javelins and jarrids fly pretty straight so they are great when some guy is riding away from you.

I did a play-through as a lancer build so its lance, shield, side-arm, and either thrown or a second shield. Ultimately I kept a couple of different thrown weapons in inventory. I'd keep troops with some thrown weapons. In any given battle, I'd use whatever I was most likely to find laying around. I might have a balanced or heavy jarrids, but as long as there are jarrids on the ground, I could grab one here and there and add it to mine.
