How to get hostile with a faction withought being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
So i'm ready to steal a castle from the khergits (they are so bad, it's basically theft), but i don't want to lose honor from just fighting a lord. Is there a way to get hostile enough to take a castle (independantly) withought being an arse.

Harass some non-combatants, such as villagers or a caravan. You do not have to actually hurt them, which would anger the best companions. Just threaten them, and it will be enough to make you an outlaw as far as the faction is concerned.

Doesn't that still lose you honor? I just kinda wanna avoid the (seemingly) inevitable fate of loosing honor. I like not being an arse.

And how would i harass them withought hurting them?

It's kinda inevitable to lose honor. Unless you want to join another faction that's at war with the kerghs, u can't really take that castle without becoming a "Dishonorable Outlaw" as far as the khergs see it. It isnt that big a deal, you can easily re-earn the honor you lose, it isnt really that much. Plus, it's the 13th century, nobody really cares about a bunch of peasants getting their heads cleaved off until said cleaver starts attacking a castle, which is what you plan on doing. Just don't bite off more than you can chew, maybe go to the nearest faction to get protection from the oncoming khergit horde.

The khergits haven't really been doing well. They got the eastern swadian city (forgot the name) and the eastern-most vaegir town (forgot it's name too), but they lost one of their cities to the sassanids (after reading up on the sassanids, i refuse to call them sarranids) and they have been locked in a preaty crappy conflict with everyone but the nords for several months. They could maybe rally about 400-500 TOTAL at any one point right now and probably less than that for self-defence.

Anyway, thanks. Just wanted to see if there was a work-around.

I do not remember the exact loss of honor from threatening peasants or caravans, but it is less than telling a lord that you will slaughter his men "Just because".

There are other ways, by the way, such as stealing cattle, but I have not done it in a decade, so I do not remember the consequences, either.

And how would i harass them withought hurting them?
Back off before the tactical combat starts, but after the relationship drop with the faction.

Ah, so go to the pre-battle screen withought actually fighting. Gotcha. Doesn't matter though. Just slaughtered a low-manpower lord (they all have 70 or less so that was easy). Saved the trouble and i got back my honor by releasing him post-battle.

Thanks for the help though. I'll keep it in mind, especially in my gekokujo run.

you try to sound smart and missed the mark like a drunk grandma at darts. I'm talking about how i could get hostile with a faction withought loosing honor. I am aware of what costs honor. Just asking for a strategy around it.

Ok, what are you talking about. I really have no idea. Because it started out with me saying that you were helping the wrong problem, then you got offended, and now... something about citing sources?(????)

um, maybe i'm weird but i'm not mad. I was 1: making a joke when i was talking about the whole drunk grandma thing and 2: I wasn't trying to be mean (i can't avoid being rude, at the moment, it's my personality). I just tease a bit and was in a bad mood for multiple reasons.
