If the player is sided with a faction, that is the strongest faction, so I will be judging on faction performance without the aid of the player.
Ive actually done the calculations and overall the sarranids are the best faction.
They are the most successful ai faction, statistically owning more towns and castles than any other faction in my playthroughs. They have one of the best troop compositions overall, having decent infantry, and well above decent archers and cavalry. Every other faction aside from swadia is hindered in some way, be it lacking cavalry, only having cavalry, terrible infantry etc.
Rhodoks are great at defending hill based areas but struggle to move out towards open field, thus being less viable for conquering the entire map.
The nords statistically are just worse rhodoks. They have garbage archers and in the field nord infantry are actually outperformed by rhodok infantry. (Huscarls are still better archer counters, but because nord vet archers do basically nothing that is why they are statistically worse than rhodoks).
Vaegirs are solid but are lacking in their infantry putting them slightly behind sarranids. They also take less cities and castles on average than sarranids. Their archers are also made of glass, and literally any cavalry will crush through their mediocre infantry meaning bad news for the archers.
Khergits are khergits. Even though theyre a fun faction to do a solo playthrough with theyre still cav only, and trash.
Swadia has the best overall army composition, largely due to their notoriously strong cavalry. They have the strongest army, but the worst geography in the game. This causes them to be wiped out faster than the khergits.
The Sarranids have the second best army comp, with insane archers and cavalry just below swadian knights, meaning they can perform well in sieges, hill battles and open field, making them the most adaptable army, hence why they can expand the furthest. They also have bottom map geography and start with 4 towns.
I dont main the sarranids, nor do I like the desert people (I dont actually main any factions, since its more fun to be your own, but if I did main a faction it would be the Rhodoks). But I do think that the Tusken raiders are the strongest overall.
The first few days, we lost uxkhal, suno, and praven and thus far, we've only manage to get uxkhal and advance into veluca (which was Nord territory at the time)...recently tho, we've taken yalen. As well as the northern city of the kergits, ichamur(I captured it while I was marshal)...we've yet to recapture suno and praven though, so most of our feasts are being held at ichamur.
They just shoot lasers everywhere
