How long did it take to get your first castle, did you have any problems holding it?
For me, it was my 2nd playthrough, at about 240 days. Managed to get the king, the marshal and about 2 other lords to support my vote, mainly by accepting quests that kept picking on this one lord (RIP Haeda, kept getting quests to denounce him and duel for a lady I was after). About 16-26 days later I managed to pull the same feat on a town, but unfortunately there's a snag.

Currently on a campaign to curb Swadia's power (working with Nords, taken Dhirim, Suno and Praven) when suddenly Rhodoks decide to do the same to us. They took Praven in a blitz siege and no one showed up to defend it. Now the oh so wise king has decided to call a feast waaay back in Sargoth when we're in the middle of a war on two fronts, so I'm stocking up my town and castle's garrison and hoping for the best.

I don't remember the # of the playthrough it was, but it was about day 160-200. I was a powerful Nordic lord. I wanted to eliminate the Swadian castles left over, but my marshal did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So, I gathered 2-3 other lords, and took all of their leftover castles, eliminating the faction, while my marshal just sat outside haringoth castle for about 2 days. I kept maybe 1 or 2 of the four(ish) I took. This was native, so I didn't have the constable to get troops for them, so I just stocked 'em with leftover troops. At this time, I already had lordship over Uxhal, and a couple other villages, so I had a steady and great flow'a BREAD, so it wasn't that much of a problem.

I don't remember the first time. So long ago, and countless new games and conquered empires later.

I've taken and held thousands of fiefs, children fear at the sound of my name, countless villages razed, women raped, hearts eaten.

I don't remember the mundane details of what ♥♥♥♥ hole I conquered or when.

If you don't have a proper answer to the question, please don't waste time with this kind of answer.

NOT ENOUGH TROOPS IN MY GARRISON

Q1. ""How long did it take to get your first castle, did you have any problems holding it?""
After 100+ days preparation work I join the Swadian (because I love to eat:steammocking:).
Around a week after, I took a castle from the Nord with my own troop.
Q2. ""did you have any problems holding it?""
I've to fight with a few enemies inside my castle before my castle is safe.
***Preparation work is important.***
Q3.

a) You can go to Praven fight with the Rhodok inside Praven. ("If" there is a chance to defence it.)
b) You can go to Praven fight with 1 or 2 Rhodok Lords outside Praven.
c) You took back Praven with your own hand just after it's captured.
d) ""Stocking up my town and castle's garrison. ""-----We should care about ourself before care about our faction.:steammocking::steammocking::steammocking:

Because your preparation work is not good enough.
Sometimes we've to let go our castle. If it's not the right time.

I will be fine the next playthrough. Hopefully.

It was my first playthrough with Sarranid. I think it was around 300 days. I also didn't join their army until I was pretty high level, but I basically took it by myself then requested it and sure enough I got it.

EDIT: I have never lost it because they have never tried taking it.

We are currently taking over the continent. I'm the Marshall and it's day 400. We destroyed the Swadians and have the Vaegirs down to once castle. Of course, the damn Rhodoks declared war on us so we had to put the Vaegirs on hold because they are hitting my towns hard :(

I have no idea how long it took me but I will never forget the first time I took a castle. It was...memorable to say the least.

It was a spring day near Uxhal (cue theramin music)...I noticed that the city had recently been taken by some faction or other and had a shamefully small garrison. So I took it and was rather pleased with myself (this was on default difficulty settings since I wasn't even aware of the fact that we had those options back then).

Then the other factions immediately declared war upon me. They all forgot their ancient animosities towards each other and came to my new capital. Wave after wave, the entire game world joined in on the swarm attack. It was over as quickly as it had begun.

It was an impressive display. That was when I first realized that there was much more going on with this game than I was even capable of comprehending, at that point.

This would be the part where it would be nice to say that it never happened again, but that would be a lie. Each time I got my azz handed to me, I picked up a new trick or two. Eventually, I began to have a glimmer of a clue, and it's been an effort to learn more and plan better, ever since.
