That said, one thing Steam has over GOG is the workshop if that interests you.
This and I'm guessing achivements are exclusive to steam, if that matters to you.
- to install your mods manually, so that you are not at the mercy of workshop screw ups
- to maintain different versions of the executable, to better support old mods
- to be able to start the game without the problems brought up by the Steam overlay
- to keep your time in game private
- not to care about achievements
... then, you should get whichever version is cheaper, run it once to complete the registry entry, uninstall it, and install a Taleworlds executable.
