Can you become a noble/lord later in the game?
Hello everyone, new player here. I was wondering if you can become a noble/lord later in the game and choose your own banner (I started as son of a merchant, my job was smith) In my current game, I'm about 120 days far. I've got a little bit over 200 renown and I have been doing jobs with the Rhodoks for quite some time. Thank you very much in advance!

Yes you can choose your banner and be given a fief once you become a lord to a certain faction.
Just need to give your oath to the king and you are all set.

You cannot become a noble if you weren't born one. You can be a lord.

Yeah.

Also, you apparently don't own the game on steam.

Hmm, doing a bit of sailing the high seas, are we, matey?

It is possible to start as a noble without current status (all the top line answers if in Native game mode), and you then get to pick a banner from the beginning. Since you chose other than Noble, you have to earn the banner as other posters mentioned.

I'm using the family share function to acces the game through my brother's account. I'm a firm believer of supporting companies through buying their products, so I'm soon going to buy it myself!

That's not true. Either becoming a vassal or marrying will make you a noble.

In game, as soon as you are given a village to rule, you are ennobled. Historically, it was even easier than that, especially starting in the 12th century.

You could be a nobleman with just a patch of land and a few men to work it, as long as you provided military service to the man through whom you held your land. In countries like Castile and Hungary, 5%-10% of the male population was noble.

I see. Alright then. I don't really care either way.
