Is this game like Oblivion at all?

I miss playing oblivion and want a game similar to it.. will this game scratch that itch?

They're not similar in the way of genre (Mount&Blade's a sandbox RPG, Elder Scrolls Oblivion's a story-based one), gameplay (Mount&Blade's is actually good) and their worlds are pretty different (fantasy vs pseudo-medieval feudal place) but they have the same *feel*.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, both Oblivion and Warband look like ♥♥♥♥. The people look like animated potatos. Thing is, though... that kinda adds more than it detracts. It adds a "charm" of sorts.

So yeah, the only thing similar about them is the fact that the graphics are lacking but the style is nice. I'd say try Warband, it has a beta - if you don't wanna, watch a let's play. If you don't like it, don't buy it - pretty simple.

mount and blade is like mount and blade, in Oblivion you are just the chosen errand boy, in mount and blade you can actually be the king, with armies, lords and companions that will fight to the death for you
