Renown? What is a good number to have?
got talked into warband a few years ago by a friend, got it via GoG and never liked it at the time. couple of my other friends started playing and them chatting has dived me into a new addiction.
basically got to lvl 28 on native and then i got the floris expanded mod (which i recommend).

basically my question is what is a high renown in comparison?
Currently level 32 with 1056 renown and honour rating of 46, are these good numbers? or these rookie numbers i "gotta pump up"?

any insight will be helpful

There is no such thing as too much renown or too much honor, with a few trivial exceptions like having to put more money in the family budget when you are getting married.

The more, the better.

High renown lets you lead more men, receive more fiefs, influence noblemen more easily, marry in more powerful families, etc, etc, etc.

High honor improves your relations with the lords with the best personalities. That alone makes it invaluable.

How much do you need before you strike out for yourself? It depends on how badаss you feel, and how much you rush into things.

With my last character, I had 2132 renown and 86 honor on day 42... but that was an all out, planned speed run.

Asking how much renown is enough is like asking how much money is enough.

Is the counter still rising? welp, keep going.

There is generally ALWAYS a need for renown.

Right to rule however, I think 40-60 is a good range to start your kingdom(you did not ask, but there is a solid minimum on this one).

Honor kinda depends on what your going, but weather its honor or dishonor the more the better, and honor is easier and more useful.

Tuidjy, you had 2132 renown and 86 honour by day 42!??? really? wtf.
By day 42, i'd be lucky to have 100/150 renown (using "No Fair Fight's" strategy/tactics 1 v 20 or 30) and 10 honour.
Please enlighten me.:diplomacy:

Around 2000 renown you start feeling the 0,5% loss per week, if you are not pushing the limits and speedrun the game.
I personally caped at around 2600 renown in Nativ. You could push it even higher, but at some point you will not have enough opponents to fight to keep the renown high.

With 1056 renown you can have ~80-90 soldiers? I would say that is a bit low compared to your character level.

Well at some point I do not care about money anymore, but renown is always nice to get more.

It's all on YouTube.

Here is the playlist. 149% difficulty.

Horse archer, played to the full extent of his (cheesy) abilities.
