Inventory management and leader skill
I just dumped some points into one of my companions

What is leader skill anyway ?

It's precisely a skill that only counts for the leader of the party, ie you, and thus is completely useless on followers.

Leaderskill is kinda useful for when you start a kingdom and allow your companions to become vassals, in which case they have a larger army cap in case you gave them some leadership. inventory management is useless on companions tho

Skills that are marked leader are only available for the leader. Personal skills only affect that person. Party skills use the highest skill of that sort in the party. People who are unconsious don't lend their skills, so sometimes it's good to put party skills on your leader as well, like party-based movement skill and the one that helps healing, in case you have a defeat and have to run very fast or get captured.

There's also the bonus to party skill levels(up to +4) depending on the leader's level on the skill. So building skills on the player can be good both to provide some redundancy in case of followers being knocked out and to pump skill levels up with the bonus.

It is useful if you want to make your companion a vassal one day.

Inventory management being a non-party skill is one of the things that always bugged me about this game. Why shouldn't I be able to delegate management of the supply wagon to one of my companions? I can never afford to put more than one point into it myself because there are too many other more important things to spend skills points on.

I agree, honestly mount& blade are you really telling me that of my 150 troop all of them need one unit of food per day and none of them can scronge up an extra donkey or something to help haul all this junk?

I forget which mod it is, but there was one that I played where your companions COULD carry stuff for you, so having a companion with high Inventory management meant they could carry a crap ton for you.

There are several. I still think it is an amazing oversight in native.
