Mount & Blade Warband STATIC sound - FIX
Okay guys, if you are reading this you're probably stuck in the same ♥♥♥♥ as I am.

When you launch up M&B WB everything has garbled audio to an extent.

I kept getting recommended "change use_winmm_audio to 0"

But everytime I did, it kept changing itself back.

Here is what you need to do:

1. Go to your rgl_config.ini location
1.1 - C://Users/Name/Documents/Mount&Blade Warband/rgl_config

2. Right click, make sure 'readonly' is unticked

3. Open it up, set that use_winmm_audio to 0
3.1 - use_winmm_audio = 0
3.2 Save the file

Here is the part people keep forgetting to include, the part that will solve your issues

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Go into where your game is installed, right click on your exe file and tick RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
4.1 What I found was that if the changes were not authorised by an administrator the game reset the values back to their original state, if you check run as admin it will use the values as default.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. You should now be able to play without any static

Sidenote: I am using a Razer headset, there is a possibility this fix may only work for this instance and not for yours. It is still worth a shot though.

Sadly this did not work at all for me. I have tried everything. I just reset my laptop and everything works way better besides Mount and Blade. I updated all drivers that exist. This is the message I get:

WARNING: Audio System initialize error: WINMM output is set

Continuing with a lot of other lines.

I have no idea how to prevent this from happening. I really don't understand what WINMM does I guess. Otherwise I might be able to find a way to fix it. Google is no help what so ever.

Just a *shot in the dark, but the Audio System Initialize errors sound like they cannot detect your audio hardware and are setting them to a default.

Do you have headphones, stereo, surround-sound?

*Edit - unfortunate typo corrected

Try it a couple of times. The fix doesn't always work for me right away. Also make sure that the config file is locked after you edit it.

Tried this and the setting goes back to 1 even when using administrator mode, if anyone has any idea whatsoever please post it here.
