This is very good advice, but there are two more factors, which are specific to Viking Conquest:
4. What kind of settlement you're selling to. For example, you get much higher prices when you are selling to the merchants in your refuge, to the fences in bandit hideouts, and to the merchants in the story line's war camps.
5. Some items' prices vary much less than those of general equipment loot. In most mods, this only applies to trade goods, but in Viking Conquest, there are more items which keep their price better, or even items which can be sold via dialogue options, for huge amounts of cash, experience, and relationship like war trophies, battle standards, etc... So sell these exclusively to large cities, preferably where you want to be liked more.
