How hard can warband get
I want this game to throw me to the ground and curb stomp me. What should i do to make it harder? I know the obvious, female, settings too full damage etc., and save and exit. Where should i start and what should i pick for background? I want it the hardest it can get. Also character class i guess. (i dont like the idea of being naked and using rocks, keep it realistic)

If Native is no longer a challenge, play mods. Some are brutal at full (135-149) difficulty.

But yeah, after 200 hours or so, Native is pretty easy. After all, the best troops are around level 20, and their proficiency seldom go over 150. Compare to level 60+ and proficiencies in the 600s in Pendor, Perisno and the Last Days.

If you want to stick to Native, you can go for a speed run (the map has been united in 187 days) or you can do a companions only run.

Prophecy of Pendor is very hard. It was the mod made for people who think native is too easy. If you really want to be curb stomped, Pendor will do it.

The only way to make native harder is to invent special rules for yourself to follow. Here are some ideas I've used in the past:

- No horses allowed. You and all of your troops must fight all battles on foot.
- No recruiting from villages or taverns. The only way to get troops is via prisoner rescue.
- All female army.
- Companions only.
- Going solo. No companions and no troops; you are a party of one against the world.

Please note that if you try this in Native, you will have to set yourself some other end goal than "Unite the map under myself", because in Native, you cannot besiege or assault with a party of one.

But with different goals, it works just fine. For example, with a party of one, in Phantasy Calradia, I achieved my goal, which was the genocide (not necessarily at my hand only) of a few races.

True, but a simple way around this is to just go recruit a few peasants from a nearby village (I think you only need six or seven to besiege a castle), have them hold position at the rear, and then disband them as soon as you are done with the siege.
i havent gotten into mods much. Profecy is well talked about. idk whats wrong with me. I liked VC but it needs some work. I really like vikings in general.

So what mods would you recomend?

Tuidjy recommended three of them. In VC you can set the difficulty of many things on hardcore and maybe it could be hard enough for you, if you haven't already tried it.

Definitely Prophesy of Pendor and Perisno. The top tier troops in those mods would effortlessly destroy the top tier units in Native.

Play multiplayer on one of the servers that the people with 200 years of play time like to join.

Acok or sands of faith, both mods offers something that is not seen in others.

Self explanatory Game of Thrones universe with the most extensive mod made to this date, the amount of work put into it is simply staggering, a must to try atleast once.

Crusader campaign with its own helm visor and tournament system makes this a great mod for templar fans.

hmmm.. as POP was mentioned, I haven't played vanilla for a long time now, but having played both POP and Persino, I don't think they are much harder than vanilla. Especially POP, which in my opinion is so unbalanced as to almost break the gameplay (faction-wise with the D'shar als Über-faction, and unit-wise with ridiculouly overpowered units like noldor, hero adventures and so on), the mod with its obsession with making anything superhuman pushes the native game's flaws to the extreme. Archery i.e., each bow being super accurate in the mod, you just need a high level bow like a noldor composite bow or a rune bow, but even with a lower level one you have a super deadly weapon which can one-shot anyone except those ridiculous winged demons which require two shots. If you get one of those super fast and super armored noldor spirit horses together with a high level bow and a arrow stock you are able to destroy an army all by yourself.
Don't get me wrong, POP is a great mod and fun to play, I love playing it, but it is no really hard if you know how to play it, and that's not difficult to find out. Really difficult mods are those focusing on melee weapons and modelling ranged weapon in a more realistic way like Brytenwalda or Viking Conquest.

Would the game of thrones mod be worth it to someone who has not and will not watch Game of Thrones? So basically, I don't care about references and names, just the gameplay.

No, the mod is very unfinished and pretty broken to be honest. Only game of thrones fan boys will like it otherwise it's very lacking when compared to other mods.

No. The ♥♥♥ is an abomination, and in my opinion, completely unplayable.

Here is something I posted last time someone asked me about good mods.

Most polished - Prophecy of Pendor (but extremely hard to start)
Most fun to play - Phantasy Caldaria (but hasn't updated in years)
Most ambitious - Perisno (but still has quite a few problems)
Most complex - Nova Aetas (but is buggy as hell)
Most stylish - Gekokujo (but seriously on the easy side)
Most entertaining story - Viking Conquest (but is a paid DLC)
Most historical - La Guerre de Cent Ans (but the English translation is lacking)
Most boom-boom-bang-bangy - Suvarnabhumi Mahayuthn (but suffers from kitchen sink syndrome)
Most satisfying to win - The Last Days (but changes core mechanics so they're unrecognizable)
