To convince a Lord to join me
Hi, everyone!

I have 73 RTR, 800 reknown, 99 relation with a Karla, he has no fiefs, is martial, his relation with his liege os only 26 i think, i ofrece him a Castle and... He reject allí the time...

How can i convince a Lord to joining me? I send my companion with more persuasión (6 - 7) and Talk by myself, but he doesnt want to Talk with me about his king...

What can i do? How can i convince him?

Thank you very much.

Keep trying. Do something else and then come back to the lord in a week's game time. Wait longer if you have to, but all lords that do not have a fief lose relations with their king every week.

If that dosent work then you can talk to a traveler (only for viking conquest) and start spreading rumors to create conflict between the lord and his king. Check "relation with liege", it needs to be low for them to consider you.

As a last resort, you destroy the kingdom of the lord that you want to recruit, and then wait for lords of that kingdom to either choose a new king or go into exile.
For viking conquest: capture all cities, but leave 1 castle. Then send an emisary to negotiate peace. This allows the enemy kingdom to get destroyed by a different kingdom, so that the vassals of your enemy are at peace with you. Then they either ride around to be recruited, or they come to your court.

It's chance and persuasion skill. Also you want to tell them what they want to hear based on their personality. For example when you ask them about politics and they say they they want what's rightfully theirs, theb you offer them lands. If they say they wanna uphold justice tell then that you'll uphold the rights of all, etc etc.

I convert Lord's all the time, and I found the key is just recognizing their personality and saying the right thing. With a decent persuasion skill I can have 0 right to rule and a 0 relation with a Lord and still convert him.

He dont even want to Talk to me (99 relation) and i have to send my companion with 6-7 persuasion because when i ask about his liege he always say that he doesnt want to Talk about

They don't ever defect unless they have negative relation with their king. It usually needs to get down to around -20 before they'll even listen to your offer, much less accept it.

And a vassal with "outstanding" or "good" personalities tend to stay loyal until the kingdom falls.

I got it. He had 23 relation with Ragnar and It is martial
Lords will come to your capital anyway. Don't bother asking people to join.

just accept people who come to your capital

I know I'm a few years late, but just for the sake of anyone else asking this question: If you are completely destroying a kingdom then take as many Lords prisoner as you can first.

I completely eliminated the khergit kingdom and waited for the "the Khergit kingdom is no more" message.

Once that message appeared, I went to my dungeons and had an extra option for the Khergit prisoners that read something along the lines of "your kingdom is destroyed, join me". Every single one I asked accepted
Now THAT's almost Easter Egg level advice, as I've put in many hours in this game and hadn't thought of doing that with "Eliminated Faction" nobles imprisoned in my castle. Great stuff.
