Best doctor companion?
Really looking to get a companion who has good medical skills. Can anyone be one or is there a companion who already has the skillset?

Jeremus was my medic in practically all of my Native games.

Ymira, Deshavi, Klethi, Borcha and Marnid can fill the role nearly as well, or better, but they are better suited for other tasks (Deshavi, Klethi) or too versatile to allocate to a role that Jeremus can fill perfectly (Ymira, Manrid) or conflict with other very useful companions (Borcha, Marnid).

How can you tell who's suited for what? By what stats they already have leveled?
Tuidjy Sep 5, 2017 @ 1:38am
Th easiest way is to subtract their level from the stat controlling the skill you're interested in, for example, Klethi makes a good looter, because her Agility-Level is 9. Ymira makes a great specialist of any kind, because her Intelligence-Level is 10. Jeremus's is 9, which is still excellent.

You can also look at what skill point are already invested in skills that you're interested in. By that measure, Jeremus shines as well, with 10 skill points already in medical skills. Ymira has only 5, but she is 3 levels lower, and in those, she could get 6 skill points.

Jeremus. I've never spec'd out a doctor in vanilla other than Jeremus - No reason to.

Jeremus is indespensible. No matter what party build you are looking for you'd be foolish to not take him*.

*Opinion warning.

Haven't found him yet so I'm just using Ymira atm. She's pretty good, but good luck trying to loot or kill any peasants so that is a negative. Is Jeramus the same?

Neither is a good combatant to begin with, but they both can become really good. Sword, board, crossbow and bolts, and they will be pretty dangerous by the time you are done.

I meant pillaging negatively effects Ymira's morale but yeah all the important members I just stick in the back with a bow/crossbow.

I guess I did not read it carefully enough.

I am not sure how Jeremus feels about hurting innocents, because I never do it. I would not be surprised if he objects, though, because he sure hates Matheld for dumping on the peasants.

I just love Ymira! ^^

She's cute and basically a blanc slate with a few medic starter stats.
Perfect to be your medic at first and then slowly developing her battle stats, making her an awesome battle medic.

Sure she doesn't like harming innocents, but neither do I.
Harming villagers hurts you alot, as both the village and lord who owns it will hate you.

Actually very good to know that because here I was thinking he'd a good alternative to Ymira but if he's the same I might not look for him as hard as I have been. Ymira's already a pretty damn good medic, anyway.

Very true lol my first game with the nords right before I got my first fief we had already been at war with Swadia and I'd sacked one or two villages. So not even a week of having Mechin which was the absolute worst fief to get given the circumstances and it gets sacked by a force of 90 or so angry swadians and their lord. I didn't know at the time that they actually retaliate against you for pillaging their cities.. but it makes sense lol. The worst part was all I could do was watch in horror.

In my experience Jeremus is difficult to piss off. I suppose if you were mostly a villager killing douchebag he'd get mad but I've found he will tolerate a healthy mix of douchebaggery and honour.
