Games Similar to Mount & Blade: Warband
Hello everybody!

I've been looking for other games similar to Mount & Blade: Warband, but in general, it's very difficult to find results when Google searching. What I'm looking for:

-Open World
-Army/Character/Vehicle Building and Customization
-Multiple factions at war
-RPG elements similar to M&B

If possible, I'm looking for a game set in space that is similar to M&B. I've found a lot of RTS games that come close, but RTS isn't really my jam. To reiterate, I'm not looking for a game that's copy/paste M&B with a new skin, but rather games that are reminiscent of the gaming style this series has to offer.

Thanks everybody!

There isn't one.

----

There is a little gem called "Drox operative", which includes multiple space empires at war, and you can do a lot of what a independent mercenary does in Warband. But you cannot start your own empire, and while you can definitely be beloved and supported by one or more of the factions, you and your ship are never more than a hired (rail)gun. Or missile platform. Or...

By the way, Drox Operative, together with Angband and Mount&Blade is on of the three games in which I have spent most of my gaming time.

have you tried blood and gold carribean? Rimworld is ummm I don't want to say similiar but the likeness to the brand of a small dev having a groundbreaking sp experience is similiar. plus you have troops and raids and sieges and such and it is highly moddable I definitely recommend Rimworld. fyi it don't go on sale apparently but it is worth every penny imo. also don't worry about the special packs you can buy they are purely not gameplay just lore type stuff to support the dev mostly.
Thanks all for your responses, I'm gonna take a look at all of your suggestions.

I always thought that mount and blade reminded me of the old school sid meiers pirates. But they are completely different types of games and sid meiers pirates is from like the 90s (still fun as ♥♥♥♥ though).

Blood and Gold: Carribean is set in the Golden Age of Piracy in the Carribean and is based on the M&B-Engine and is, besides some difference, basically M&B.

Rimworld, atleast since the last time I played it, is not like M&B at all.
You have some guys there, research technologies and build up a settlement, it is more a settler management game.
But that was some months ago. There were different settlements of tribes, thieves and so on, but there were definitely no war parties moving over the map.

There is no game like M&B lmao. It's the best.

Well.. Blood and Gold as stated is built on the same engine, but it's garbage IMO compared to any of the mods for Warband.

Rimworld is actually pretty fun =P A nice hint in case you get it: Operating on prisoners is a good way to get your doctor's lvl up =P

You have to keep in mind. M&b did so well because not many games fall into its category. I put it into being a boss category. The 3 games linked above are good(didn't like Man owar)

Give This War of Mine another shot. I don't feel you gave it enough hours.

You might like the xcom games. Not quite space but involves aliens. The old school xcom games have a cult following, and the new xcom1 and 2 are also awesome. I suggest the newer ones over the old school.

Battle Brothers is also good if you like sqaud managment. You manage a mercenary band in a low fantasy world. The art graphics style can be off putting, but its a pretty damn good game.

You might also like Stellaris. Although instead of one man/woman you play as a whole race.

Last suggestion. Veil of Crows. Just keep in mind its early access and not quite done being cooked yet.

Btw I have spent a lot of time looking for any games similar to M&b hoping that I might have missed a hidden gem. I hope after bannerlord crushes the charts more devs will make games similar to it.

I have extremely high hopes for Bannerlord. It seems like they've focused a lot on tweaking all of the existing gameplay elements, and all of the new features seem great as well. Don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I feel pretty confident with TaleWorld's abilities.

I'm more doubtful than you honestly, and with it being a prequel I don't really know if it will work out. My hope is that bannerlord will not be a M&B version No-Man's Sky but a classic just like warband. I not a natural pessimist but I really fear that Bannerlord will fall short, but with all my heart I hope it will be a masterpiece. I just don't know with all the delays and whatnot. My opinion at least.

It looks pirmarily to be the same thing only updated graphics and expanded upon gameplay features.
