Do you mean fiefs you have taken over but without an owner, or fiefs that you own that you want to give to someone else?

In case you wanna give the fief to one of your companions, talk to him about fiefs in the army menu.
If you wanna give one fief that's currently yours to someone else, go to your minister and ask him about fiefs. Your fiefs are classified as "unassigned", so that should be possible even in native

note, your Minister must have enough skill for this option to show. If you use the default guy (something like, "a noble from your town" option) He will not have enough skill to do... anything... but fire himself

Make one of your companions the Minister and you will see the option to grant fiefs

(I am pretty sure this is in Native, but might be part of Diplomacy.)

Yeah you need either a wife as a minister or a companion. And in vanilla you can definitely give away owned fiefs. The same way you give unowned ones by talking to your minister and asking to grant a vassal a fief.

I think I understand now, my kingdom only owns a castle which i'm trying to get rid of because i'm broke and can't afford it. But you can't get rid of the "kingdom headquarters" so to speak.

I love how you replied to a 2017's post.

- Title: "How do I give my fiefs to one of my vassals?"

Once the player is a King, Assign either your Wife or a Companion to the position of Minister. Then, the option to give a fief to one of your vassals will be unlocked. The nobleman wont have this option, must be either Wife or Companion.

"How do I give a fief to one of my companions?"

Party Menu, select Companion, Talk, option: "What do you think about holding a Fief?" . Choosing a fief, the companion will leave the party and become a Vassal.

"How to get rid of a Castle/Town?"

-If you are a King:
-> Talk to Minister (either wife or companion) , give that fief for another vassal.
-If you are a Vassal:
->Trade it for another Fief, either a worse fief in importance. (Town -> Castle -> Village) or a fief in a worse economic situation. (Rich -> Average -> Poor).

Or if you just want to lose it:
-Get the troops out of the Garrison, let the enemy take it.

"I cant afford the fief":
-Before having a Castle, spend some time investing into enterprises among the map, specially inside your own realm. (Faction you chose to participate). Or if you are independent, It wont matter.

Remember to never place Cavalry to defend a Fief. The wage Is too expensive for that troop to sit idle inside a castle, defending it by foot.

I think that's enough for anyone who in the future, comes to this 2017 post.
