Viking Conquest - Mod for Danmark and Northvegr?
So as I have noticed it's not really feasible to play as Danmark or Northvegr in the sandbox mode. They don't really like to leave their mainland and go raiding or conquering. Is there some kind of a mod that "fixes" or changes the AI to allow for Danmark/Northvegr play?

For now I think I'll just play as Northhymbre. A question for them is why there's so many Briton lords in there, well not that many, just four after all. Did they all join the Vikings after they invaded? I'd have liked it more if there were just Jarls/Hersirs tbh, but that doesn't really bother me all that much.

One last thing, I kinda feel bad for the Frisians, they have some good infantry and a cavalry unit, but are otherwise lacking everything.

the frisian units are easy to train + you have nords down there also,i think it is meant as a starting kingdom for pagan king charactors
nope, they don't do to much(nord, dane, etc) on thier own,but as a king that should be no problem, and even a clever player lord should be able to move them on to the mainland
also,if your the one being attacked you might think that they do plenty really
the briton lords probably just joined the northymbre after you noticed them,or are you saying they still use the briton titles?that would be some kind of bug methinks

Yeah I was actually thinking of creating my own kingdom in Frisia, got a good safe base where you can get taxes from.

Indeed, you'd have to be king. Honestly I think playing with Northhymbre is gonna be a smoother ride. What I meant is that Northymbre has Earldorman Egbert among other Earldormen(?). Just wondered why they are still in Northhymbria. Cause I thought historically the Northumbrians were rather opposed to the Norsemen and there wouldn't be many Earls betraying their country to join them. But then again, perhaps some did.

It was mainly from a historical standpoint or whatever. Wondered about the background behind them being loyal to the Northmen ruling Northhymbre. Naturally there isn't any because this is a sandbox game afterall :)
ah,i see
as far as i'm aware all the anglo-saxe and nords use the Elderman term for any lord in posesstion of a town, which probably just fits with them using scandinavian/german corrupted words rather than celt
(maybe the nords don't,i've never seen one with a town)

by far the strongest troops are the Irish ones, but others have easy to train units like smoking man already said. ♥♥♥♥ arches from saxons charger from Frisians or the north bowman.
Also to mention the viking sea raiders, that are a very strong Spearinfrantry. But not easy to recruit them masswise.

many Saxons (northumbrians) defected to the Danes once they landed there, one nice touch in VC is that Northhymbria in the game has a puppet king (I forgot what the name was, but he has a title of "King", but is not the faction leader)...(and that the faction leader is a Dane without "king" as his title) This is quite historically accurate, as the Danes/Norse would often put a local vassel as a puppet king.
This might explain why there are "local" lords in the Northhymbrian faction...

In my current game both Danmark and northvegr own land in the British isles and none of it was because of me. So it does seem they will travel on their own.

However Friese after 600 days still didn't have any new land (I took them over and wiped out Friese but then they came back later through a rebellion and took a big chunk of northmbyre land, which gave me an opportunity to take a bunch of land on the isles).

Ah okay, thanks. Makes sense then. Didn't expect to see them defect IRL, but I guess they'd do anything to keep their status
