Prevent Two Lords from Objecting to Peace... Failed?
I've never been able to complete this quest in all my years playing Warband (unless I bribe them, but that leaves me with less money than I made from the quest), but this time I was sure I would complete it since one of the lords was my personal prisoner and the other one was stuck in a prison cell. However nothing happened even though the quest log says I can either get them to agree to peace or prevent them from voting (which I'm pretty sure you can't vote in prison). I assume you have to get them to agree to peace rather than just prevent them from being able to vote like the quest says?

I always solved it only by bribe.

Not sure if it was finsihed and prison possibility is valid (same situation is at "free lord" quest where option to ransom him was never implemented and you cna onyl free him by combat)

THough why you say bribe is not profitable? As I recall it cost like 7k+2k of that two lords that can be further negotiated by persuasion and rewards is like 12k so at least 3k pure profit (I ams oryy if numbers are incorrect but I am rpetty sure as whole this is one of quests that reward most money) edit: jsut checked wiki and it is as I wrote - first lord ask for 7k, second for 1,5, reward is 12k. So minimum profit is 3,5k + persuasion (that cna net nice few hunderds extra). btw there is wrtitten capture BOTH lords is valid option too - msot likely they need be captured by yourself.

The reward was 12,000, but each bribe was 7,400ish which puts the bribe total at about 15,000 whereas I'll receive 12,000 from the Guild, which results in a net loss of almost 3,000 gold. Unless I've missed something and the lords will reward you for swaying their minds but I've never been able to persuade them even with 5 Pursuasion.

It takes 7000 to bribe the first lord, and 1500 to bribe the second. The reward is 12000, so the profit is 3500. Of course, this is if you do it in the most unambitious way possible.

If you are doing it for your faction, you are much better off paying the bribe, then chasing and fighting the enemy lord until you catch him. I do not know whether having the quest changes the odds, but the last few times I've tried it, I captured him at once. That leaves you with 5000 profit.

If you are not part of either faction, you can try to capture both, but I admit that I have not done that, ever, because I try to never enrage more than one faction at the time.

If you have good persuasion, and do not mind wasting the time to go for multiple persuasion attempts, you can talk down the friendly lord to nearly nothing, and then have a single go at talking the second lord down. When I play a "glorious leader" type, I usually pay less than 5000 in bribes.

I didn't know the bribe went down after the first one and now I wish I would have broke Refarch out of prison when I had the chance because I already had the other guy as my prisoner.

Oh well, now I know for the next time they want me to do this.
