With PD 8 I one-shot or 2shot anyone, especially unshielded target and horse riders.
if you move around your target and evade its hits with dagger it is actualy viable as well.
Also, you're exaggerating about how weak the bow is during tournaments. I just started a new character and barely hit level 10 and headshots in tournaments (just won one using bows) do 30-40 damage.
It's not impossible - just difficult if you didn't increase your weapon proficiencies.
But if you do, a bow is one of the most powerful weapons. Especially if you're good at it.
Against a bow? Wait till he is about to fire, start walking to the side. Bots aren't THAT smart.
If you plan to tournement alot in cities where bows commonly spawn, then it's probably a good idea to ensure that you have 100 in all proficiencies.
Power Draw isn't really required as the Tournement bow can't benefit from more than 4 points, and even at very low proficiency levels you can still snipe people will a little practice. At 100 which is pretty easy to get, your reticue should be very stable and easy to line up head-shots.
IMO Throwing weapons are actually the worst weapons to get as they don't hit for crap unless you've got a heavy Power Throw investment and even at 300+ proficiency their reticule has a huge spread. And are pretty sub-par when switched into melee mode.
IF you practice with them a lot, you can quickly murder a whole enemy group but it's not something you can solve with just throwing more points into it like getting better with Bows is.
the only hard part with bows is learning to lead your shots when moving at a full gallop while shooting at someone else moving on a full gallop.
Let me see if I am understanding this correctly -- You want someone to modify this game simply because you suck with a bow.
I actually prefer a bow in the arena. As long as I dont have a lance im fine. I hate lances and poles.
