Most difficult bosses?
So which bosses did you people find most difficult? The only one that literally killed me for almost an hour was Tachibana Muneshige. Fought him at about level 40 and he was infuriating. No other duel was this hard. Everything else was from♥♥♥♥♥♥easy to mildly frustrating. The living weapon mechanic floored several bosses for me ( Nue and Giant Centipede died in about 10 - 15 seconds). Was surprised at how easy the Yamata no Orochi was, seeing as how it's some badass legendary monster. And the Hundred Eyes boss too, was pathetic, being the villain behind everything. Storywise i arrived at the Winter Siege of Osaka, completing every other sidequest on the previous maps, how many more bosses are left?

Aside from forgetting it exist half the time and the other half the time holding onto it in case I need it later. I almost never use the living weapon mechanic.

Outside of fights where you fight 2 bosses at once?

Hino enma (back when I started she was rough she's much more doable now that I'm not so scrubby )
Tachibana Muneshige
Umibozu (without lighting any of the fires)
Shisen Kosen that said I gotten much better since if I went back down to an appropriate level and fought him again I'd probably find him much easier
Date Masamune

I found Tachibana to be fairly easy, probably because he staggers from spear hits which have good range.
My problem enemy is Nue, likely because I'm too aggressive and don't wait for its lasers.

Going in blind, White Tiger gave me the most trouble. Most bosses I figured out during my first or second encounter. White Tiger, however, was aggressive and fast enough that he rolled me several times before I finally got him down.

Not counting 2 in 1 boss fights.

Currently, I think Ogress since I can;t for the love of my life get pass her.
Stefe Nov 14, 2017 @ 7:15pm
Sakon Shima, since he's got that one annoying grab that has very little startup.

That one is definitely easy, but there's sub-mission about dueling him, and that's much harder

Because I only got past Great Centipede I haven't seen them all, so most problematic boss for me was - Onryoki, simply because I had a habit of sticking to enemy back, which backfired me this time.
Tachibana Muneshige duel would've been hard if not for rock on your left, makes it so easy to cheese him

Boy, get your Lube ready because the Real Tachibana will poke that Asscheeks from you.

So far two bosses have given me more difficulty than others: One is the first Onryoki (ship boss), difficult because a) I was still learning the game (and hadn't even found which weapon suited me yet) and b) because I was having to unlearn everything Dark Souls taught me (this game plays a lot less fair).

Second was Yuki Onna. She's got so many different moves, many of which look rather similar and several required me to die more than once before I found the trick.

I've just reached Sekigahara now, so likely as not there are more difficult bosses to come. On the other hand I have plenty of Sloth talismans now, making things infinitely easier. I'm not sure any post-Sloth boss can actually be called difficult.

actually quit the mission because he killed me 20 times straight as well. easily the most difficult boss in kyushu.

was hitting for like 2k damage. not hit that hard previously, by anything.

im going to level some more & make sure to equip anti lightning for next time. what is he weak against?

Speaking as a guy who almost 100%'d (didn't finish Abyss all the way to 999) the game and done challenge runs: Sanada. This is also the most common boss to mention. Unless you have a very specific build to deal with him (negate elemental and ranged damage stats at 100%), he can be INCREDIBILY tough. He has three forms, two of which are Living Weapon. He reads inputs like crazy, sometimes he'll just walk in circles until you press a button. Other times he'll immediately go back into LW once he's out of it just out of spite. Some of his moves are a 1.frame input to dodge, and cannot be blocked (unless you have massive HP or negate elemental damage).

Those who say Hino, Tachibana, Yuki etc are obviously not far into the game which is understandable as it hasn't been out for too long. But rest assured that Way of the Nioh Sanada will make those guys look like an immobile blob.

On way of the samurai only the final two DLC side missions were hard. Jin was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy. Easily the hardest solo boss (again on way of the samurai). Everlasting duty was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare though. it's the only fight that took me more than 6 tries and it took like 15. It probably would have been way easier if there was a solo fight against the human enemy in that fight so I could learn him without feeling super stressed like I have to succeed because I finally made it a 1v1. 9 tails is actually joke difficulty easy by herself but is pretty hellish with the dude shooting projectiles through her which you cant see at all cause she takes up the whole screen.

I wish the whole game had been as hard as those last 2 missions. Like, they don't just one shot you, they are actually mechanically difficult. I made sure to beat them both without living weapon or sloth though so I'm sure that could of cheesed but those 2 mechanics feel like cheating.

Oda + Yuki Onna combo. For hardest bosses, some of the DLC bosses are insane.

Hayabusa hands down is the hardest boss.

Fighting him is a good thing and a bad thing altogether.

Good thing he's operating on Ninja Gaiden logic, so if you played Ninja Gaiden.... you know exactly what he can do.

Bad thing is that he operates on Ninja Gaiden logic.... meaning 20 meter long rolls, jumping instakills, bomb spam that would make the Toad choke a bit.
I did notice on Jin Hayabusa that strafing left is MUCH better. His flying swallow is somewhat modified and he sticks his sword out to your right (his left) meaning if you strafe left it will whiff every time. Just like in ninja gainden if you block the explosion of the incendiary shurikens you don't take damage from it so always block when it's about to detonate. He is definitely a poke once then run like hell kind of boss, at least so far as I've learned him. I did notice his combo doesn't have much tracking so theres probably a way to stick close to him and deal more damage but I couldn't work it out in my few attempts.

He is much easier when he uses the kusarigama IMO. His grab attack is easy to dodge and punish and he does it a lot. I'm just glad he doesn't spam guilliotine throw but I guess they didn't develop that technique in the clan yet. Punishing him after he uses fire ninpo is also a good window.
