Good story point decisions & beyond Banner Saga 3

So I had a near perfect run on BS2 years ago, (loved that game), I figured I had accumulated so much food & time that BS3 would be a breeze. But when I played a couple years back I ran out and barely made it. Is there a perfect story choice run guide that you guys use?

I also heard they were going to eventually make a new saga, maybe in a different timeline.

I haven't heard anything and was wondering if anyone else has?

I don't know of a guide, though a number of players the Banner Saga Discord might give you their choices if you ask them. There are a few points here and there that are hard to prepare for since some states depend on what you did in the other games. Like with the Dredge baby.


So far the only known information is that Stoic is working on something, and that it is a game. We also know that they've been hiring a lot over the last years.
There is absolutely no information about a new saga, nor about the timeline it would be in.
What we do know is that the team wants to work more on the sagaverse if possible.
I believe it has been said that the coming game has nothing to do with Banner Saga.
I also believe it was mentioned the game would bear multiplayer components.

There are some speculations that the team might not be currently working on their own game but for a third party. That is because of the large amount of hires and the lack of releases since BS3, thus no newer source of income. They may or may not be developing there own game while also doing the aforementioned.

I didn't use any guide and I'm not sure if such a one exists. But in my achievement guide I have a section on choices ("Understanding Arberrang - How to Get Some Control"), where I list all the choices that affect the number of clansman, companions and food you get (with actual numbers), as well as choices that affect the travel time of Iver's caravan. So maybe it will help you

I used to wonder if the Varl were doomed. Their god was gone and their numbers deleted from the BS series or if something in a future game would save them. Seems like they are meant to die off though in time.
