Banner Saga Trilogy: Stoic Edition vs Deluxe Pack bundle
For a newcomer to the series, is it worth to pay extra to get the Stoic edition or is the Deluxe pack enough?

It depends on if you intend to make use of the Survival Mode (40 battles back to back using a team of your choosen cahractes from a large pool) and/or Eternal Arena (a sandboxy mode to arrange fights within limitations, and compete on a leaderboardwith dev made weekly maps).
Those two are the main content of the The Legendary Items DLC which is in the Stoic edition and not in the Deluxe edition.

The Legendary Items DLC Includes:
• Exclusive Heroic Title - 'Shadow Walker'
• Exclusive Legendary Item - 'Petrie Clan Ring'
• Digital copy of "The Gift of Hadrborg" novel by James Fadeley
• Survival Mode DLC
• Eternal Arena DLC

Otherwise, the big difference would be the inclusion of the novel The Gift of Hadrborg by James Fadeley (a really good read).
The items and Heroic Title for BS3 are good to have but not a big priority, you have enough of either to not feel you lack those.

Thanks for the detailed post, I think I will go with the Deluxe ed!
