I would honestly suggest starting with 1. Then you can decide when to buy the second and third if you ever do.
It's probably going to be a matter of personal preference which one has more enjoyable gameplay. Personally the second is probably my favorite just because I love playing with Bolverk.
Spare all of us the trouble and dont buy it at all or buy them all.
But yeah it seems you got it cheap somewhere so good on you.
The Mass Effect narrative comparison is helpful though, so thanks for that.
and?
I also answered his question.
But still, the tone of your reply could have been informative without being confrontational, which just leads to random internet strangers like me judging you for judging others. (See, I'm no better!)
Far be it from me to criticise you but all 3 titles are worth their weight in gold and and the normal price is absolutely fair. I hope you buy the second one full price, because it would seriously help the studio to make some dough who have produced these excellent games on a shoestring budget.
But I agree with all posters that came before: You need game 1 and 2. The lore will totally confuse you otherwise and you will have no emotional connection with many of the characters.
