Don't Have the Perfect Import Save? - Just Mod It
So, I have zero programming or modding ability, but in both TBS 2 and now TBS 3 I've been able to do some basic modding of the save file to make crucial changes to bad decisions.

In my current TBS3 game, which I imported, I modded Eirik to give him the Call Bear ability, and I also modded Iver's Caravan to give him the Apostate/Stonesinger character. All I did was use another imported save file from TBS2, where I had those things already, and I pretty much copy & pasted the missing bits. It worked perfectly.

I just post this because,
1. I'm proud of myself for having figured it out and cheated the system. Now, instead of 2 not-quite-perfect TBS2 import saves, and possibly having to play TBS2 again to get a proper Hard Difficulty Team, I can just tweak some things in the save files and get the abilities and characters I want.
2. To let other players know it's pretty dang easy to modify the game. If you also have a problem with your imported saves, you can probably fix it without needing to replay anything.

No doubt you can properly cheat this way, too, and it's easy to give yourself Renown or boost your character's stats. Personally, I didn't do that, and I consider my changes to not be cheating.

You can even mod in pre-order DLCs and stuff. They're pretty open about letting you put Tryggvi in TBS1.

Yeah honestly, I noticed those "pre-order" lines of code in the Save file and decided not to go there. But yeah, seems pretty easy to do.

(In the end I got a 20% discount on the game from the Razer Store, so glad I didn't pre-order.)
How do I mod it? Any guides on it?

You can find the Save Files in the "AppData/roaming" folder. Then look for "thebannersaga3/localstore/save." From there, edit your "resume save" file. Don't touch the "master save" file.

Just open up the most recent Save File and start taking a look at it. It's pretty easy to understand and make some basic changes like editing abilities, renown, etc.

Just make a backup of the original save file first, and then you can experiment without stress.
