The Banner Saga 3

Why does Fasolt hate me?
So Fasolt has pretty much said he hates my guts and is looking forward to seeing me die. I have 3 problems with this:

1. I'm playing an Alette run, she didn't have any real say in the decisions made at Einartoft

2. I fought on the bridge until after Fasolt "died", so his personal animosity is completely unwarranted

3. He makes it sound like destroying the bridge cost them that fight, but Bellower swept around the backside of Einartoft with half his army so they were ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway?

No Spoilers pls, I just started

Fasolt would have prefered if all the Varl had died in battle and that the bridge survived them as a proof of their legacy. He's just being a pricky bastard, don't worry about him ;)

Just making something to blame someone. Maybe Fasolt always blame player for breaking down the bridge, either you decided to broke it or not.

I think it's more about the fact that almost nobody took the decision to abandon Einartoft without the bridge getting destroyed. I guess he behaves different in this case. But if you either choose to destroy it or run out of days and then Eyvind just goes for it still means it's the humans' fault.

Don't worry, Fasolt hates everyone, not just you. Heck, even his ability, Malice, is just concentrated hatred and shoutyness. That's just who he is.

Fasolt is all about the Varl. The varl aren't so concerned with their own survival, and would rather their great works and deeds be remembered through history. Destroying their greatest, grandest creation to save their lives isn't a choice all of them would make - perhaps not even a choice many of them would make. The varl, under king Jorundr, chose to go down fighting for the bridge.

Fasolt doesn't hate Alette specifically, but he does hate the Skogr caravan for destroying their monument.
