There should be support for the follow Saitek gamepads:
Saitek P880
Saitek P990
Saitek P2500
Saitek PLC Saitek P3200 Rumble Pad
Saitek P2900 Wireless Pad
Saitek P480 Rumble Pad
Saitek Cyborg V.1 Game Pad
I seems very wierd that they work in the main menu but not in the character selection. Unfortunatly I do not have acess to a Saitek controller.
Could you tell me which version of Saitek gamepad you are using?
And have you tried using them without your 3rd part program, x360ce?
I have tried using PS controllers together with another third party program and it worked fine.
One of the controllers is a Saitek P2600 Rumble Force Pad
The other 2 i unfortunately don't know, they are both Saitek, they both look identical to Playstion 3 controollers, (though one is silver while the other is black) and windows simply recognises them as "Dual Analog Rumble Pad" and "Dual Analog Pad" I've checked the back of both controllers for a model number but no luck (i bought them a very long time ago)
If i don't use x360ce then all 3 of these controllers are completely unresponsive in game, where as if i use x360ce all 3 controllers will function while in the main menu (and options menu) but at the "Character Select" screen none of the buttons have any affect on the game. Meanwhile the 4th controller (the XBOX 360 controller) works completely flawlessly with or without x360ce
It's left me more then a little confused
I will make sure to check if I can add support for "Saitek P2600 Rumble Force Pad", "Dual Analog Rumble Pad" and your Dual Analog Pad" on thursday or friday. And I'll post an update and see if it makes any difference for you.
You can try with and without x360ce after the update but it should work without it if i manage to add the support. I'll post again when I've looked into it.
EDIT
I looked into it and i can't find support for your controllers, they may be outdated. We are using a plgin called Rewired which supports a bunch of controllers but I can't find yours on the list.
You can find the supported controllers here:
http://guavaman.com/projects/rewired/docs/SupportedControllers.html
There is however already support for "Dual Analog Gamepads" which should apply to your other two controllers. They should be used without x360ce in order to be treated as dual analog gamepads.
But I have one last idea, because you are using one Xbox controller the software may think that you want to use something called Xinput and it will not work for your other controllers.
Have you tried using just one of your other controllers without having the Xbox controller plugged in. Try each controller separatly with the other controllers plugged out of the computer and try with an without x360ce.
Thats all I can think of for now.
(I have not applied any update since i could not find any support for your controllers)
I've done a little experimenting and WTHOUT using the 3rd party program x360ce none of the other 3 controllers (Saitek P2600 Rumble Force Pad, Dual Analog Rumble Pad and Dual Analog Pad) work even in the main menu (where they did work with x360ce) now none of them are responsive at all, and this is trying both WITH and WITHOUT the XBOX 360 controller plugged in, indiviually and in pairs, no luck:S
Are there any other options?
The only options that I can see now is:
1. Try some other similar 3rd party program that makes your operating system believe that the Saiteks are 360 controllers. Maybe there is a program to convert them to Xbox One controllers?
(Seems like x360ce is the most popular one though)
2. Maybe you could borrow some 360 controllers from someone you know?
I think controller are ok, but not button.
I have:
1x Xbox360 official controller
1x Sony Dualshock 2 controller (using PS2 -> USB adaptor)
1x Kinobo USB
1x Gioteck VX1
These work fine in a selection of other multiplayer titles, including those made with Unity.
The symptoms are that all of the controllers can control the menu, but then when in the character select screen, only player 4 is controlled, and that is by the first controller that was used to navigate the menu. This happens with or without the Xbox360 controller plugged in (because I know they can sometimes be a bit forceful with X-input).
Using Steam's Big Picture mode, I usually have Xbox controller support turned off, and generic USB turned on (set up as such because other games respond well to this). I've tried fiddling with that too, but there is no positive effect for turning Xbox support on, and turning generic USB off only stops the non-Xbox controllers from being picked up at all (i.e. won't even navigate the menu, ALT+F4 time).
I know the devs don't seem to be active in working on this game any more, but if by some chance one of you reads this and you've had some success with any of these controllers, can you please share the specifics of your setup? Are you using a 3rd-party controller app? (I'm not, incidentally.) Are you using Steam's Big Picture mode to emulate a Steam Controller? Any help would be appreciated.
For thoroughness, I'm on Win10, and I'm not using the Windows Game Bar.
