It's been very quiet here for a while and we're sorry about that! So before we get to the patch notes, we owe you an explanation (and we have some news about how the game will release).

At the end of April, we received a publisher offer. For a team our size that's a pretty big deal, and it's why we pushed the release date back. We wanted to give the process the room it needed. (We're also just three people, all writing our master's thesis right now, so a lot landed on us at once.) That's the reason for the radio silence, not a lack of progress.

Sadly, and quite unexpectedly, the publisher deal fell through in the end.

But we're not letting it stop us! After a few intense weeks, we can finally say it:

Honestly, the extra months gave us something too. We used them to build and polish the parts of the game that mattered most (there's a whole village with houses to explore now), and what releases in September is far more than we would have shipped back in April.

Echoes of Mora is an unusual product. It's a flatscreen game and a VR game, and we built both properly instead of bolting one onto the other. Communicating that matters a lot to us, so we decided to split the two versions into two separate products:

• Echoes of Mora: the PC version, playable with mouse and keyboard or controller, no headset required

• Echoes of Mora VR: the VR version, which also includes an optional PC mode you can switch at any time

Two store pages, because most of you already know which one you want. A single page would mean every screenshot, every system requirement, and every review would be half about an experience you're not looking for. Separate pages let us be precise about what you're actually getting.

Our final demo update before release:

• 4 new languages 🇵🇱 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇹🇷: the demo now runs in 11 languages!

• Smoother swimming: your strokes no longer need to be perfectly horizontal to keep you level, so you won't drift up and down while swimming forward

• A new prologue: a gentler way into the story, and into the world before the flood

• A greatly expanded village: many new props and more buildings to discover (the demo map is now visually at full release quality)

• One more Trace: one more extra optional scene for anyone who wants to dig deeper into the story

• Lots of bug fixes: including several issues you reported to us, thank you!
