Unable to Get the 'Kaitai Shinsho' Achievement

I tried 100%ing the updated version of the game earlier this month and the only achievement I've yet to get is the 'Kaitai Shinsho' achievement. I know you have to read the red book in one of Father's labs. However, when I read the book I don't get the achievement. Either I'm looking at the wrong object or it's a bug. I wouldn't be posting this if the English version of the bug update dropped but it hasn't yet. Can anyone help?

This took me a while to figure it out too. It turns out that Aya won't open the book until she receives the Magic Water from Ogre. You'll have to backtrack to that room after that cut-scene.

I backtracked and Aya opens the book, but I didn't get the achievement.

For anyone who's having the same problem (like me), read the achievement again.

If you backtrack just before the portal she'll open the book without regards for anything, you need to interact as early as possible.

I actually figured out what the issue was. I had to play the original version of the game and not the remake in order to get the achievement. Apologies for the late response.

How did you get the achievement?

Go into the area right before the dude hanging from a rope. This should be as soon as you get there- if you're going back into the room, you won't get the achievement, so you have to replay from the start or an earlier save. Go to the table in the middle of the room, and go to the red book sitting on the middle of the table. Interact with it to try and read it. Hope this helps!
