In connection with the latest news, those who pre-ordered System Shock 2023 will still be given a remaster of the second part for free?
Any news or thoughts on this due to the change of the name of the remaster of the game?
System Shock 2 Remaster will change to = System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster

It was actually named System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition previously, but yeah, hopefully they will still honor the preorder bonus deal they had back when the SS Remaster was launched. I see no reason why they wouldn't, but... we'll see I guess.

Yeah I had the same concern, I replied to their post on X and also emailed them, hopefully I get a reply back as I pre-ordered SS:R and assumed I would get SS:EE (now SS:25AR) for free.

I am happy to wait if it means the end product is polished and plays well, I just wish there was a bit more transparency in regards to the remaster. As in, if there's a delay for whatever reason, just let us know. It's really not that hard to keep us in the loop.

The release date will be announced in March.

Why couldn't System Shock 2 have been created on the Unreal Engine as well?

That would be fine for a remake, not a remaster. Unreal wouldn't allow them to reproduce the game in the same manner as the original. Different physics, etc. The KEX engine is alot better for this type of remaster.

I hope so the only reason I broke my holy "never preorder video games " rule is because of having system shock 2 remaster with it
It's weird that they only mentioning and reminding about the Kickstarter backer getting it free if they backed to a certain tier but ZERO mention so far about remake pre orders
I hope that doesn't smell a classic "we at X corporation we love you ,we love games ,we love our fans but we got a oopsie daisy that will not allow us to fullfil our promises...but we love the community and games so we cool ? Have a 5% discount as apology "

But yeah, about that finally playable SS2 we still waiting....
