Is there any Hope for System Shock 3?

We saw a trailer a long time ago, and i heard there and there its been cancelled or it's being not worked on , but is there actualy a chance we get a 3rd game? Or even a remake of the 2nd one or is this the last product we will have of System Shock?

I think it's dead. Otherside pawned the licence off to Tencent (which is probably a good thing considering how the former f*cked up the Underworld 'sequel') and speaking of Underworld, please get on it nightdive.

So IP is dead dead? A shame , i played the original and only recently got The Remake making me wish for more of it. Cause story wise i think the good old rogue AI Is a classic story ,but i think System Shock did it the best. Thats kinda why i am hoping for more.

IP isn't dead its just in the hands of a new owner and there are no studios working on the IP at the moment. The IP itself is still considered pretty valuable so we may see a game with it in the future but there is no studio currently working on it.

It all kinda depends on if tencent has a time restriction on the license. Kinda like how sony pictures would have lost their marvel licenses if they didn't make movies often enough.

Given how everyone is running on fumes when producing anything gaming anymore, it was a Christmas miracle they made good on forefilling the last of the stretch goals from their kickstarter. I doubt we'll see anything shock™ related for the rest of this life. (Anything new that is, there was supposed to be System Shock 2 enhanced coming down the pipe)

It's up in the air if or when it comes out at all, though the previous iterations that were being made got cancelled so if it were to get made it would be totally different
