Personally, I wish they had stuck with Unity, I thought it nailed the small details much better. I want to be excited for this game, but I instead remain rather neutral. Can't wait to see how the reviews unfold.

Its 40 bucks. Only on steam. So you can refund it if your the "I just wanna hate all video games blaaaahhhhh" guy.

Yeah they could have recreated this exact look in Unreal if they wanted to. What OP is talking about is a different approach to art direction and level design.

The environments looks so much better on unity... Just look right at the beginning... The fog and smoke effects are awesome... The unreal version doesn't capture the atmosphere at all... Looks like a cartoon on unreal imo...

I never thought I'd see people going to bat for Unity over Unreal in an FPS.

I prefer the new, stylized look, but for people realizing Unity is perfectly capable.

I worry that as yet another UE4 title it will be plagued with shader compilation and traversal stutter. UE4 is not in a good place on PC and as it's basically abandoned by Epic now it most likely never will be.

I know why devs use it, but as a PC gamer it's pretty much a seal of awfulness now.
