So uhhh... full game of the super epic alien shooter version?
WTF was that? did I just enter a demo of another game that's different than this game? lol

I'm not enjoying the pacing of the demo so far but it is an incredible world and I dig these stories. I ended up entering an entirely different level where I was flying around and shooting a bunch of faces or something. It was insanely cool.

How do I get a full game version of that? Is there more? That was epic. Is that a normal part of this game?

I'm assuming you're referring to the cyberspace sections. It's kind of Descent-like, which is another old game in itself. a group of ex star-citizen devs got the IP rights and were making another one but ended up having a lawsuit with the publisher during which the IP rights lapsed and the devs ended up signing over the assets and game to the publisher and they renamed it back to its original pre-descent working title "ships that fight underground" and I haven't heard anything since. Check out Everspace 2, it's an arcadey space ship combat RPG game with lots of descent-like underground levels.

lol You'd know it if you played it. It's some Tron or like Lawnmower Man stuff. Super badass.

yeah but flying around underground and in rock tunnels in Everspace 2 is really the only thing close to Descent these days. I mean, you'll probably never find anything exactly like Cyberspace in a full game, but it's pretty much the exact same gameplay as Descent, you could check out the original Descent, it's on steam.

They're not indoor flight sims, but don't forget Conflict Freespace: The Great War & Freespace 2. Same developers as well after they changed the company name.

A notable amount of people that worked on Overload also worked on Looking Glass's earlier games: Ultima: Underworld 1, 2 and System Shock.
