Hopefully they really do upgrade the online infrastructure and save this game. It's worth it. U-Play is just complete crap but I made an exception for this game, I love it so much.

"We are happy to announce that we have released Anno 2070: Remastered for $69.99!" - Ubisoft
Also, no, there are no plans for a remaster (or History Edition, if we wanted to stick to our terminology) for Anno 2070 despite your cynicism.
Cheers,
Thorlof, Community Developer for Anno
PS: It's Ubisoft Mainz, not Blue Byte ;)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You might want to make this a sticky :3
And so, to the community manager here, I really hope you'll relay to Ubisoft higher ups the customer base's unhappiness with their idiocy. This stupidity flat out doesn't work to dissuade pirates, it dissuades people from buying Ubisoft titles. It's not even DRM, it's just a pointless service that Ubisoft has to provide for no benefit to itself or to us. I have never heard of losing access to single player DLC from any other game title or company. It is just complete stupidity.
Thank you, but till then you are on my ignore list!
