Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Game crashing on startup
Hey guys,

I know there are already a lot of posts from people having trouble playing the game. I bought it on the Steam sale, and it straight up wont run on my laptop.

I'm not having trouble connecting to the internet. I'm not getting a black screen when I try to launch. It displays some splash art for a few seconds, then I get a message that the game is "not responding."

I really want to play this game, it looks really fun. I've been poking around through these threads and none of the solutions have worked. I went to NVIDIA control panel to make sure the game is detecting my gaming graphics card. I reinstalled the uplay launcher. I reinstalled the whole game. Nothing has helped at all.

My system specs are as follows:
GeForce GTX 670M
Intel core i7-3720QM CPU @ 2.60Gz
15.9 GB ram
driver version 320.49
Windows 7 Home

I bought the gold edition and the latest expansion pack separately through steam.

Does anyone have any insight into how I can fix this? I don't care about getting Ubisoft banned. I don't want a refund. I just want to play my game.

With regards to the crash to desktop (appcrash) deleting the ProfileData file found under C:\Users\"user"\Documents\Might & Magic Heroes VI\"user" stopped the crashes for me...although it did reset my background to the default and some of the movement speed / battle speed settings. Can't complain when it's working again :B1:

You're welcome! Found this on one of the Ubi forums, hopefully it helps out others experiencing the same issue :)
Does not solve the issue for me, unfortunately. Tried removing the entire "\Documents\Might & Magic Heroes VI\" folder, still, no luck. I'm running on Win8 x64, GT650M, driver version: 320.49

Any ideas?

I still got problem with starting up the game... deleting profil data, updating every driver for everything in computer, rebooting about 20 times...none worked... Up to this point it's been nothing but money down the drain... *sarcasm mode ON* thanks a lot, ubisoft, hope you enjoy my money, don't spend it all in one place *sarcasm mode OFF*
pleeease fix this, I'm really looking forward to playing this game
I also had this trouble that the game crashed nearly at the beginning. I did not save the game so I had to start again from the beginning. I am looking forword to a solution for this problem...
New driver version fixed the issue for me (works with 331.58 on GT650M, Win8 x64).

This solution fixed my issue (which was explained in the main thread) - however I also did this solution before hand

- while not fixing my solution, I cannot confirm OR deny if it had any role in fixing the issue.
My suggestion is to use the first solution in simply deleting your profile data first and if that didn't work - then going on to the second and then repeat the first. Not a tech wiz here but this is simply how it was fixed for me.

the error message I get is that the game is already running, and I get it for MM6 and MMXlegacy as well
they both start and then shut down and I have tried running them as administrator and uninstalling and installing the games, verifying the files and still they don't work
