FIX Assasins Creed Brotherhood Uplay Launcher not working/can't play/giving errors
This is for all the people who are having problems with opening Uplay or not playing AC2 because of Uplay.

I myself had an issue where Uplay was always closing as soon as I launch it through steam and I wouldn't even be able to login. If this is the problem for you or you have something similar, try doing EXACTLY what the below says.

1. Uninstall Uplay. This can be done from Add or Remove Programs. However, it leaves files behind which you need to delete.


2. Go into Program Files (x86) and delete the entire folder called Ubisoft.

3. Restart computer. (This is important for some reason)

4. Reinstall Uplay from the Uplay website. Link: http://uplay.ubi.com/en-GB/about#link

5. Restart computer again.

6. Launch Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and wait for it to update and do whatever it does

This solution was taken from a discussion for AC:Revelations, but it worked for me and if it worked for you or you have any questions, just reply below.

Hey, I have no map called "ubisoft" in my program files. And don't I have to deinstall ACBrotherhood too?
Didn't work for me, game starts, screen goes white and then shuts itself down.

Thanks for helping out after 6 YEARS, I might however give this another go. Never got back to playing these.

Hey Zandtheetje, sorry for the delay!

We are encountering a few players having issue with our older legacy titles on Steam since the introduction and update of the Uplay launcher to Ubisoft Connect.

For any of our older games on Steam, it may force you to use our older Uplay client with the game.

If you havent been able to update the Uplay Client to the new Ubisoft Connect launcher your older games may not work straight away and may crash.

Please make sure you have updated the Uplay launcher to Ubisoft Connect by launching Uplay whilst Steam is completely shut.

You will know when you have the new updated launcher as the name Uplay in the top right will now be displayed as Ubisoft Connect.

After updating the launcher, if you still have trouble launching the game, please make sure to check Ubisoft Connects .exe file is set to run as administrator in the game properties -

The Uplay .exe file is located here by default -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\

- Right click on the files and select 'Properties'
- Select the 'Compatibility' tab
- Check the 'Run as Administrator box'
- Click 'Apply' then 'OK'

Next try launching your game from either Ubisoft Connect by itself, or Steam. Let us know in the thread if you are still unable to launch the game after trying the steps above.

uplay is dead they dont let me log in and wont send a link to change password. useless bastards.
