Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

White gradient (fix/patch?)
I, and a lot more people, have a problem with AC: Brotherhood. There is this white gradient on the upper half of the screen when playing. Most of the time when you are playing in daylight. It's presumably a feature Ubisoft put in to make the bloom work better. But I find it really annoying and most people say that Ubisoft promised a patch or fix for this annoying effect.

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix/patch, or how I can get rid of it by playing with the settings?

I have the same issue and it hurts my eyes to play! Any help is appreciated!

Yeah I have the same issue too. Assassin's Creed I and II looked so much better for not having this sh*tty new "feature".

I thought the PC community already had a patch for it but apparently I was wrong. Stupid console port, I think nothing can be done about it.

Does anyone know whether this is also in AC Revelations?

Well if you guys are still interested I did some scoping around and found this. I'm currently testing it out myself to see if it works. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1803095.html
At the very bottom of the page there is a guy that talks about a Texmod that can help you out with it

I had the same problem. It seems the Steam overlay isn't truly/completely disabled from just unchecking the box in Steam. After some googling i ended up with this fix:

"This can currently be fixed by deleting or renaming the following file while Steam is running:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\GameOverlayRenderer.dll

This will kill the Steam overlay and resolve the issue, though unless you rename the file back before you next start Steam, it will cause Steam to take a little longer to start up next time while it redownloads the file.

Credit to b03b for discovering this."

It's not ideal but it did resolve the problem for me.

After the patch, this no longer works.
