turn vsync on - I had the same problem yesterday and I turned vsync on in my nvidia drivers control panel (as well as in game) on my 120 hz monitor. All sorted. Then I turned it back off in control panel. The mission becomes fun and playable after that

thanks - this worked for me too!

Turned V-sync on for this mission, and was able to control the flying machine as normal. (Running an AMD/ATI card).

Just found this bug. Wow, did Ubisoft even bother with testing this game? This, coupled with the first mission with the cannons drops the score severely for me.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ubisoft.

Got the same problem - that was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating. You got no controls working or, in addition, got stuck midair without any possibility to move.

SOLUTiON: set Refresh Rate 60 Hz, and voila!.. all gets much better (except refresh rate, of course).

Here is another fix, for the POS glider mission. This is from Ubi and me experimenting a little for the best result. I found the glider moves better in both turns and altittude at 800x600 60mhz or lower.

The vsync did not work for me, so i went and bought a wired controller (not just for this game but game me a reason to get one) and started a long lengthy ticket with Andrea at Ubi and came up with this idea after three days. Why this is not stickied on their site is unforgiving as they have known since game release of the problem.

Good luck

I must be the most stupidest player in this game ever when it comes to this part of the game. I seem to be having the most difficult time dealing with this part of the game. Ok, first on or off the vsync and 60 MHz parts do not help me with the issue. My problem is my glider will either hang in mid air and go no place. If I press the up (W) key the glider will nose dive. Is I press the down key (S) again, the glider will nose dive. I can shoot fire on the ground below me to gain altitude but even that does not seem to do any thing for me, still keep nose diving. When it begins to nose dive, then I find it pointless on even trying to pull it up any more after many, many, many tries. So far, it has taken me nearly 3 hours and got 1 kill because of this issue. Once in a blue moon it will go up so fast that the glider will move so far above the screen where I can not even see the glider and more, then again, here is that nose dive. What ever I try, the nose dive will not pull out. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Here is what I figured out from this horrible mission.
1. The controls for up down do not work correctly
2. The only way to achieve altitude is by the heat from fires
3. keep the glider circling long oval type
4. A game controller is truly needed
5. It is a game breaker had i not had purchased a controller
6. It is one of the dumbest missions in the franchise.
7. Luck plays a huge part of fisihing this mission
8. Had I known about this bug I would not have purcahsed this game.

Thank you for the reply. I do understand what you are telling me and I been trying to follow much of what you had stated before. As with the heat, like I stated before, I tryed to fire the glider to get the heat below me to help get me up and nothing seems to happen. As with the circling, I do that too if possible. Many times while circiling, my glider seems to stop in mid air and nose dive or hang there suspended in the air. Drives me nutso I do admit. Also, it does look like I have to get a controller even though I hate playing games with a controller.
I hate controllers also, but for that mission it seemed the only way to get it done. Good luck.

Ran into this issue myself. What I found, pitch and yaw are controlled by the mouse. Bump up mouse sensitivity to max and be prepared to do a lot of frantic repeated sliding sideways. Once the workshops are done the controls became more response. It is doable, just very frustrating

I've tried everything and nothing worked, I noticed that even when I set the framerate limit to 60 fps (Both in the game's options and on Nvidia panel)The game still shows me on the screen a framerate higher than 100, so I used the Riva TunerStatistics software to force 60 fps(I saw this solution on a Ubisoft forum), and it worked! Now I will be able to make the mission.
