Investment items and shop quests

I've noticed that some shops have the items I need to complete another shop's quest. Do I actually get these items to complete the quest or do I have to find everything on a person/treaure chest?

So only the shops in the Tiber Island Hideout region offer the Shop Quests which earn you extra items. They aren't really 'quests' as such - all you need to 'complete' them (and hence get the reward items) is to acquire the items listed and have them in your inventory when speaking to the shopkeeper.

The items can be obtained in any fashion (looting from people, boxes, or even purchasing from other shops (though I didn't think other shops provided the items.. what items you thinking of?)), so long as you have them in your inventory at the time of completing the Shop Quest.

TL;DR Only need the required items in your inventory at the time of completing the Shop Quest. These items can be acquired in any way.

Not really. I'm needing quest items to unlock the higher level armor. Where do I buy a shrunken head or the purple dye needed to complete these quests?

Ah sorry, I see now.

Ok, so as far as I can remember, the Cardinal's Purple Dye is rare (but I think is lootable from treasure boxes / certain people), and the Shrunken Head I think can only be obtained from certain missions (the Lairs of Romulus ones perhaps).

I suppose I'm going to have to replay some of these lair missions over since I've missed a few flags and chests because of having to chase some guy.

Could be wrong, but I think the shrunken heads come from there..

Btw, you know in the chase objectives in ACB the guy you're chasing actually waits for you (see what I mean by linear and easy?) Couldn't believe it when I realised that, even for a mainstream triple-A title!

Still a good game, but definitely shows some poor design choices unfortunately.
