I see they added upc_r1_loader.dll to both games and removed the old .dll
I think that's just the usual Uplay DRM. Which means the game are not standalone on Steam, which I hoped this patch would provide. You still need to install Uplay to play.
I see that both executables got some slight reduction as well, not sure what's that about.
The other files are a bit of a mystery to me. Revelations has some kind of new sounds_3_dlc files for all languages.
And it seems like all the multiplayer files from Relevations got removed and added to Brotherhood?
Hope they resolve that, it's sorta a big thing for some folks.
how to fix
I wrote to support, but they didn’t answer anything
Quick update: UPlay stopped being Ubi$oft's current game launcher/store somewhere during 2020. And you can simply uninstall UPlay because it does nothing now apart foolling people that only recently acquired those now way old games.
Now, to use that now you'll need to obtain Ubi' Con[ubisoftconnect.com] and install it to run any of those games, either they were directly acquired from Ubi$oft or some other selling place like for example Steam is.
Simply search for those saves in: "...\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\..." and you'll find them there. And if now you don't have access to the Da Vinci Dissappearance DLC and/or any others that you used to have simply head into that part of the Nexus Mods site[www.nexusmods.com], or any other of similar good reputation, search for those games saves and then place those in there to unlock those said DLC's.
And to know which is which from all those number folders with *.save files inside, you should use this info' as well[github.com].
Edit add note: I've found out what they've removed once again. There's no more online "Investments" feature working like we used to have it working back in the last year or so. Peachy scamming of your old time customers and/or players, there Ubi$oft.
(And then they wonder why I've simply stopped being their fidelized customer from ever since they've released AC: Oddyssey.)
Shame indeed. Such a great gamemode that tests player´s situational awareness and other wits, keeps you on your toes. Unless you´re a roof-running or animation-abusing prick of course. One of the first grandfathers of online social deduction games. Except it remains an actual action game in a beautiful world with kick-ass setting. Went under the radar somewhat.
R.I.P.
And then please to upload that game version's *.exe file into this thread through an archive file like for example *.zip or *.rar (because Anti-Virus programs by default clean those up even if they hadn't got a virus).
And to anyone whom may help me out getting that previously working functionality back, my thanks in advance goes to whomever you may be.
P.S. I completely agree, limiting a game that many people love so much, which has brought changes to the industry as a whole, is very bad on their part. This is also a blatant disrespect for their customers.
They closed the servers, so what? They also stopped supporting Mafia 2, and gave the players all the dls for FREE (Yubisovt doesn’t know such a word), and DID NOT REMOVE IT
What are you talking about? Why is it a "troll" comment when it's true? This update only updated the DLL to the latest version of the Uplay DRM. Also, new gen? I am sure I am older than you kid.
