One thing I can say, you should not enter your Steam login for the game. Only use your Steam login for booting up the Steam client or for web access to your account -- it's never used for games.
If you get a login screen for ACB -- that'll be your Uplay login that you need to enter.
Hope this helps.
..But if this doesn't solve your problem, just list step-by-step what happens when you launch ACB. :)
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Assassins Creed Brotherhood/Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.app
2. right click the app and click Show Package Contents
3. Open Contents > MacOS
4. Open the file 'acbmp_sf'
5. Once open, press Escape then Enter.
6. ACB opens
7. Has a login and so I enter Uplay login (Which i just made recently)
8. Then it says Lost connection to the ACB server the game will quit automatically
9. then it launches single player but i want multiplayer this is the only way i can open the game because from steam once i open it it imedialey says ACB quit unexpectantly after it asks me the cd key to enter and then thats it
btw i was gifted this game from my friend if that matters with my problem I'm guessing the log in only pops ups for people who don't open directly from steam?
If that doesn't work, try this...
Btw, it's irrelevant if the game has been gifted to you. The game is locked to your Steam account regardless, and so has nothing to do with your problem.
And also, every user has the Uplay login pop-up if they launch ACB, irrelevant of whether they launched from Steam or from the direct program file... Simply because Uplay is the DRM that ensures that the game is registered to you.
Again, hope this helps :)
(I suppose one last thing would be checking that your firewall software isn't blocking ACB traffic. Port 7917 should be open to allow ACB multiplayer to work.)
I tried your 2nd way were you verify the game cache it says that i have one file failed to validate and will be reaquired? but when i play it from steap it still quits unexpectantly and when i play the mac program it says lost connection to the ACB server
The 'Verify integrity of game cache' tool should pickup any missing files which might have fixed your problem -- but apparently has not. (Sometimes it says 1 file is missing, but your game should still work; I think the 'verify' tool has some bugs in it, or just a weird way of working).
I'm really sorry but I don't know what else to do :/
..Try the Ubisoft forums for Assassin's Creed[forums.ubi.com] first -- there's hopefully a solution there. :)
