Why can I only use 6 assassin recruits?
I've got all the assassin recruits I can for now (I think that's about 10 or 12) but even when I have them all available (not away on missions) I can only use 6 of them at a time. Why? If you have 10 recruits all available, why can't you use them all? It seems silly. Especially as it takes quite a while for them to 'recharge' after you've used them, so it would be helpful to have as many as possible.

Also, related: why can't I call assassins when I'm in places like Romulus lairs? I understand not being able to call them when Ezio is outside of Rome, but all of the Romulus lairs are within the city.

1) There are only 3 Assassin Signals. It's just the way it is. The other 6 assassins contribute to recharge speed if I'm not mistaken. But as a rule of thumb, send 6 assassins on missions to get money and leave the other 6 for yourself.
2) Assassin Recruits are unavailable in Secret Locations because Ezio explored them alone and didn't bring his apprentices with him. Gameplay wise, assassins require a point of entry/exit. In the city they can jump from above, run out of alleys, climb from below or ride on horses. After they kill guards, they retreat. You can't retreat from Romulus Lairs.
