i need help with "turning the tables" mission

in this mission you are requiered to disarm and kill your enemies with their own weapons. the problem is that i cant figure out how to disarm a brute, several sites say that you need to "soften" them up a bit with your fists, the problem is that every time i try to "soften" them up i end up instantly killing them with the fists. i've also tried to "soften" them up with the throwing knives and this doesn't help either because ezio just killes them with it. So what the hell am i supposed to do? cuz i truly have no idea

never mind i figured it out. basically they have to hit you first before you can disarm them (the same applies to papal guards)

Brutes can be disarmed after being taunted. Papal Guards are immune to taunts but they can be disarmed without getting hit as well: dodge 3 attacks and disarm on the fourth.

well i after a while i did realize that you could disarm them after a few of the hits (not just immediately) but thanks regardless lol
