How do I do the "jump to a higher ledge" move from AC2?

I know, how embarrassing. I'm asking something that I am willing to be has been asked many times before. I can not, however, find it even though I looked.

About 1/2 way or so through AC2, a female character taught Ezio an advanced climbing move where you could "leap" higher, while climbing, and press a button to grab a higher ledge.

I can not figure this move out in Brotherhood. I'm only just beginning sequence 4, but is this move an automatic carry over from the last game?

I am using an Xbox 360 controller. Am I missing something?

And in case it looks bad that the game is not in my Steam library, I only own it on Uplay. I just prefer Steam forums. Thanks!

You need to buy the ability (glove) from Leonardo da Vinci.

Ah, I have yet to meet Leonardo in this game. Is that part of the story or do I just have to find him? If I can simply find him, where is he? Thanks so much, both of you!

Thanks, I looked at a brief guide and it looks like the fourth sequence, which I just began, may be where he re-appears. I have beaten AC2, so I'm familiar with him.
